Kevin De Bruyne 2016/17

@waspish

For the avoidance of doubt lads, there was a thread started called "Can Silva still command a place in our starting 11".

I found that as disrespectful to the best player in the league and arguably the best City player in history, and started this thread as a response.

I've now changed the thread title to avoid the confusion.
Still don't get the logic behind Starting thus thread. I like the discussion, don't get me wrong, but thought it was a petty thread to start. Not to mention, it assumes the guy who started the Silva version of the thread was some kind of DeBryune fan hatingvon Silva. Don't believe that was the case.

And questionng whether any player is deserving of his starting spot is not disrespectful. There are arguments for and against. People do it for Yaya constantly. In spite of being perhaps the most instrumental player of this City era. And rightly so, has he has underperformed. And for a good portion of last season, so did Silva.

But oh well...

Was in Belgium last week, they love Kev out there. No doubt about it they see him as their star man.
with 19 chances created in their last two games its not surprising.

what is surprising is that even lots of city fans don't know he plays for the no.1 ranked team in world football, and is there star man. Next season could be an incredible one for our Kev, as long as he doesn,t suffer burn out from the euros, having had his first season in English football under his belt...it took Silva a whole season to start producing the goods consistently, look how he turned out

Pretty familiar performance from DeBruyne.

Fantastic talent, but needs to improve his consistency and start having an affect on games when his assists and goals aren't forthcoming.

Sorry mate but he set their 2 best chances up there. 2 fantastic crosses put in the box before the defence had organised. Unfortunately Orrigi was on the end of at least one of them.

Even when De Brunye has a poor game he still creates a number of very good chances/sitters for his team mates.

No need to apologise for him putting a couple of crosses in, mate. Was anonymous for the vast majority of the game, as the commentators pointed out.

Not his best game but their best chances all came from him and he should have had at least one assist with the work he did, whilst not being played in his preferred position isn't too bad.

HaHa!. I love those anonymous players that never seem to do anything until they score or set a goal up. As for the commentators pointing his flaws out...didn't see that coming.
