If you look at attempts from open play by Belgium, compared to those of England, it all becomes clear: 27 for Belgium, 10 for England.
Yeah, we have some defensive vulnerabbiletys that Martinez did not adress but Martinez managed to create a top notch attack from our foward players and imho it's the best on the WC in that regard, able to score goals past even the best of defenses given the solid teamwork and the idea that on an individual basis our attackers would often achieve that too. Martinez is a good attacking coach and he has prime material to work with.
England will need to work our defensive vunerabilletys, because im pretty sure we will score a few against you. The danger comes from too much angles to easily control. Doesnt mean England hasnt got a chance afcourse, but both teams are arguably better at attack than defense, so it becomes more a game of scoring more than youre opponent i think. If the game is being played for the win by both teams then i predict an exciting match with lots of goals.
