Quite right. On Saturday, he kept it simple. Didn’t try to force things. Looked like he was also trying to form some synergy with the team through his movements. Just my observation. Everyone will be needed till the end of the season. It’s good to have him back

Was quite encouraged by his return this time. When he's returned on two previous occasions this season he's looked behind the play and his passing has been wildly erratic, but other than having one soft shot that he should have buried, everything else clicked into place and he could have had a couple of goals to his name (that swirling cross Rico tipped over, the blasted free kick that Otamendi blocked). Not totally sure about starting him on Wednesday - think bringing him on for Gundogan on the hour (or even on 70-75 minutes if we're ahead) would be best - but wouldn't complain if Pep wanted to give him an hour or so.

I think people underestimate how good an out of form De Bruyne still is.
Over the last 18 matches he put up some surprising numbers when it comes to key passes and chances created.
Often when I thought he was clearly off the pace he somehow managed to dominate the highlights reel anyway. I 'm sure others have noticed that as well.

If he can stay away from niggles we’ll have a chance, however, he needs games and they are running out..... as crazy as it sounds, he should be used as an impact sub for now!

Judging by how he was still clearly not match sharp after 18 games, I think he's out of time to get back to his best this season. Even if he played all 14 games between now and the Champions League final, he'd probably not be there yet.

I imagine it's just a matter of how close he gets. If he's 90% of the way there, that's probably good enough.
