Kevin Keegan

That season with Arabic Ali and Israeli Eyal, absolute magic, second tier football but top class entertainment, also one of my favourite seasons, great memories.
Newcastle away in the FA Cup, down to 10 men and city battered them and got beat. I knew then we’d be fine once promoted with Keegan. That team were so much fun to watch. We then got the best striker I’ve ever seen at city… Anelka was just incredible, mard arse but he had everything.

Loved that season, the footy the best since the mid 70s, however favourite managers Joe Royle who picked us up off the floor, or Mancini who tore down the banner and put the piss can back in his place.
Loved those days and loved Kevin Keegan.

Despite all our recent success and beautiful play, I cant choose between Pep, Kevin or Brian Horton as my favourite boss for getting me giddy. Love all of them.

Could never score when he was one-on-one with the keeper!

the best ever? you obviously never saw Carl Shutt

I'll never forget that magical left-footed volley by Jensen that somehow found the net from way, way out.
I was sat directly behind Jensen in BB, so I had a perfect view of the ball flying into the net..

It was a fantastic strike. Against dirty Leeds, wasn’t it?

And I'm sure their goal shouldn't have counted. Wasn't Weaver taken out? Or one of our players was.

The round before we went to Ipswich, another Prem team, and we destroyed them. Someone launched the ball to Berkovic on the edge of the area directly from a corner and he smashed it in. One of the best goals I've seen that never gets a mention -

It was great, best goal you’ve seen though? Leave it out. Scored often that type of goal. In fact Kevin Horlock scored a similar one that very season at home to Bradford if I remember rightly. Now goater at Gillingham was one of the best I’ve seen for the simple fact I can’t recall often many players doing a back heel chip to assist a volley often.

As many have said, great season and one of the first of me attending regular. Goater, Huckerby, Wanchope, Ali, Eyal, SWP and even Macken thrown into the mixer. What an attacking side

Great days under special k.

The Horton era was exciting.
The Keegan era was exciting.
The Sven era was interesting, and a coup.

Amongst utter shit before, between and after (Hughes) it all led to this.

What a journey.
Kendall’s stint was exciting, and the promotion seasons under Royle were exciting n’all.

I know the 80s and 90s were completely trophyless and there were a few yo-yo years, but there were actually decent times to enjoy along the way.

I was working down in Chelmsford at the time and drove across to Ipswich for the game. When the goal went in I went berserk, what a goal. At the time I thought he'd volleyed it straight in from the corner. However, watching it back later I'm sure it was a half-volley and took a slight deflection before hitting the net. Great goal nonetheless, best goal ever seen - NO!

Absolutely no one has said it's the best goal ever.

Can people genuinely not read on here?!
