feels like their reasoning was based on Piers Morgan this week, when during the Ashes apart from him baiting Warney I didn't notice the media making a fuss of him, thus I can't see how KP leaks were that much of an issue?
That's clearly what they're suggesting though, that he's been leaking stuff and a few players weren't happy, but then again, without actual evidence that could just be them using it as an excuse, especially as 1 or 2 in that dressing room may feel getting rid of KP means they'll be kept on (not that I'm cynical), I'm sure they have their proof though.
It almost feels like they're punishing him again for text gate because some people haven't forgiven him and want to boost their own status.
But like I said, they must have their evidence.
KP said that at none of the meeting he's had with Cook or the ECB have they mentioned anything about them not having any trust in him. As far as I can see there was a team meeting in Melbourne after the game where quite a few of the senior players said they could no longer stand Flower treating them like schoolchildren. It appears Prior especially has had a monumental rant with obscenities but somewhere along the line Prior has been made out to be an angel whilst KP has shouldered all the blame. There are some pieces to the jigsaw missing or KP is taking the blame.
Also, it looks like before the last test match Cook wanted the players to all do some fitness work, which KP took exception to, and he wanted the players to work on their skills, especially against the fast bouncers which were causing them all problems. To be fair, this England team is the fittest cricket side the world has ever seen. The last thing those players needed was to do laps after spending so many hours in the field being pummelled around the ground. The problem for the bowlers was that they never really had a chance to rest because of the crap batting.
Other things against KP appear to be him saying he wanted to score 10,000 runs and he was whistling after he was out in Sydney. Ridiculous doesn't even come close.
Also, the ECB the cheeky cunts complaining about leaks. Graeme Swann crucified KP in his book but received no punishment. And there's been tons of leaks this winter, mostly about KP such as Prior saying certain players were 5 mins late to meetings or wearing the wrong gear. And apart from recent stuff, the ECB have a history of leaks when it suits them. Ask Flintoff.
To me he has been sacked because the captain and one or two others don't like him. If that is true that is unforgiveable. From the statement yesterday I am 99.9% certain that Cook has issued an ultimatum to the ECB to say if KP isn't dropped I quit. If that is true then Cook has nowhere near earned the right to do that, especially with his batting form and having captained the England team to their worst ever tour.
And JMW I must apologise. You said from the start Cook was part of the clique and I couldn't believe that. Think it's pretty certain he was now.
Finally, looks like Eoin Morgan is the man to take KP's place as he's just pulled out of the IPL. Great.
