Key Bridge, Baltimore, has collapsed.

So the conspiracy theories are what, because there are always reasons for these sort of incidents.

Normal banal reasons are the usual answer. Conspiracy shit is best left to American fools and sad twats on the internet. Mechanical and electrical failure is the reason and the inquest will find why and by who it wasnt maintained. Time will tell. Its an engineering fault

Close the thread for the expert on all things maritime has spoken . . . .

Can you imagine being the sad fuck who picks his rumble podcast to listen to. In the ocean of other alt right grifting nonces, the coked up unloved nepo baby is the one they picked.

Fortunately Rumble pays content creators next to fuck all so he would have consumed far more in cocaine in the time it takes to film an episode than it actually generates in revenue.

If you can, watch Richard Hammond's Big, series 1 episode 4. It's about He Marie Maersk container ship. Gives you a bit of an insight of how big these ships are...

Glad this is just a thread bump. At first I thought it had happened again, and twice in a week would be careless to say the least.

Was it a disaster waiting to happen? If there was a "fragile" structure that could be hit by 90-100,000 tonnes ships would it have been prudent to insist that they are pulled by tugs until clear of the structure?
I know hindsight is a perfect science!!

Could you even begin to work out how many charges we‘ve been charged with on the charges thread if you carried similar logic?

We’d be looking at being demoted to the East South East Stockport Regonal League division 12.

Didn’t know the death toll was 6. Awful.

1.9bn though. Plenty of brown envelopes within that, no doubt.

4 years and 1.9bn to rebuild!
Translated into the language of actualité means six years and 2.9bn to rebuild, plus, as @LangleyBlue1970 has said, another few million in bungs.

I think that was what was reported as expected with 6 people missing, now presumably confirmed. It is awful and for their families. But it is also incredible for the length of it and the scale of the collapse. But as noted, the reactions to shut the bridge and the time of night was the one somewhat silver lining.

It took 4.5 years to build it initially. At a cost of £250m. That's nearly a 10 fold inflation increase in just under 50 years.

On a similar note I watched the old and new Roadhouse on consecutive nights. Man that guy's bouncer rates have gone up a fair amount!
