Khaldoon's End of Season Review 2025

never mind all the whys and wherefores of koolhand...

bailey did it again.

i have expressly explained to him,
on a number of occasions over the last 2 decades,
twice in person,
that it is champing, not chomping, at the bit.

chomping means eating.
champing means eagerness.

he gets paid for being fucking stupid.

he's getting a visit later from you-know-who
and it won't be pleasant

Theres a thread in OT about getting stuck in holes cya tomoz ;-)

Oh! Come on.

There's a lot to like about our chairman's end of season reviews.

I particularly enjoyed the one where he said "we won't be held accountable for other clubs (rags, dippers et al) mismanagement"

..... and then "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" I'm looking at you Everton and Nottingham Forest as well as the red top cartel.

There'll be a few gems in his next one.
Absolutely. Do we want a chairman who sits in the background and does nothing, says nothing but try to milk the club for all it's worth while it falls apart?

I get that there are those who complain about the ticket prices and I understand it, but it's always been the same, you want the top acts, you have to pay top whack to see them. Unfortunately I don't think you can have one without the other, big earners mean high prices.

Finished it, nothing ground breaking but I like his attitude and his focus on the future. Acknowledges that the season wasn't good enough but any disasters were avoided. I'm glad he feels the same way about Pep that I do. He's a great speaker and he does represent the club well.

I just hope he acknowledges the ticketing problems in the next couple of parts.

The way he talked about "we will have the new team in the Club World Cup" tells me the deals will be done, and a few are already done— the first or second choices, no third choice for once!
He said roughly same last season apart from CWC
Transfer aren't that straight forward unless offer stupid money

Gaslit into it being sold as a good season, and them achievements are good when the numbers suggest otherwise. 3 cup finals on the spin is only good if you don't lose two of them to teams that finished 8th and 12th, 7 fa cup semi finals on the trot is only positive if you win the trophy, two out of seven isn't a good return.

The CL qualification is an achievement for 15 years on the spin, but we didn't set out to scrape a spot on the last game of the season, in a year 5 teams got entry. We know without these interviews that they are competent and committed.
You seem to have learnt a new word, Gaslit!
Stop being a mardarse and talking bollocks.

I thought it was quite significant that he said his relationship with Pep is built on trust. He trusts Pep and Pep trusts him. Pep has always believed our owners have done things right. I am taking this as a positive re you know what..

Exactly what I thought. Pep would take it as the most massive breach of trust if we were found guilty on the 115. Oh, of course, they can always spin it the way UEFA did, i.e. you're guilty of not cooperating in the investigation. To which I would always reply, “Well, if a copper nicks you in the street and says ‘You are guilty of stealing a car on the night of the 14th, and you're now going to help us prove your guilt’ I would reply with a word beginning with F and ending with K, and complemented by ‘off’ ”.

I'm afraid that makes making basic mistakes in English downright tempting.

I hve supported City since 1962, this season has been relatively successful considering the injuries. Maybe they should have brought in more players last summer, but nobody could have anticipated Rodri and Bobb out for the season, or the other injuries. The last few games (Cup Final aside) shows that City are still a force, we just need to sort out full backs, maybe goalkeepers, and let some of the squad players out on loan, and lose Walker, Perrone and Phillips for whatever we can get for them.

It isnt bily big bollocks, Man City are a big club, we are dining at the top table. Starting an end of season interview celebrating 7 semi finals in 7 years is insulting when only two of them resulted in a trophy. It isn't saying we should win them, it is saying it shouldn't be singled out as an achievement, because it isn't. As I backtracked, CL can be celebrated, even if that is celebrating a place on the final day when 5 places got entry. We accept the season and move on, we are in safe hands. The original point was don't insult us instantly about achievements which aren't achievements, our FA Cup return is considerably poor when put in context.
You keep constantly saying we can’t celebrate a champions league place when there are 5 places available this season. We finished 3rd so I don’t get your point? Listen it’s fine if you think we’re should be winning the treble, or league or whatever every year. It’s your prerogative so good for you. I think your going to be in for a bit disappointment - sorry to sound realistic - or “small time” as you’d put it

He recognised mistakes were made, began addressing them in January. The season was disappointing but ultimately gives us a platform to go again next season.

The proof will be in the pudding, we are linked to lots of players and clearly have a strategy in place. If we go and do our business early and have a good Club World Cup, winning it ideally, we are right back and ready to challenge for the major honours next season.

Great words as per usual, now we need to see it with the business we conduct and on the pitch.
