Khaldoon's End of Season Review Part 2 (Pg 14)

We don't need squad fillers, if that is all we are doing I'd rather promote one of our youth to play the 6 or 7 games Rodri needs to miss/rest, as opposed to buying somebody else's youth and Rice for 150m will be some 'filler' both of these players are not fit to lace Rodri's boots, nor prime Fernie either for that matter.
Fick.

Sorry but I'm not gonna blow smoke up his arse. Tells us how much local working class fans mean to the club but every season (bar one) they have increased the prices. And the club have moved long seated fans so they can turn more of the stadium into corporate seats. If you've got the money to absorb the price increases it's all well and good, but if you haven't you've been(or will soon be) priced out and on your arse watching on TV.

He's a perfect example of chairman who understands the fans and have a genuine relation with them.
I disagree.

I think he’s done extremely well in a sporting/business sense, but I think it’s a stretch to say he ‘understands the fans and has a genuine relation with them’.

Some examples on the contrary (some aren’t signed off by him directly, but have happened on his watch):

- joining the ESL
- seasoncard price rises year on year
- no meaningful, regular contact with City supporters (I don’t consider CityMatters a success. Points of Blue back in the day was better).
- LED advertising boards instead of fans banners (electronic flags, oh my god).
- removing the cheapest seats in level 1 to make room for larger advertising boards.

They’re just off the top of my head.

There’s also a clear disillusionment among many local, ‘legacy’ fans who feel the club are prioritising new, global (and more financially lucrative) fans over their longstanding support.

Again, I’ll stress that he’s brilliant at pretty much everything else, but there is always room for improvement and an decent end of season review shouldn’t lead to us forgetting key elements of our ‘supporter experience’ that have been mishandled.

the best bit (and what shold be scary for every other team) is the bit where he says something along the lines of "within hours of the Villa win, his, txix, ferran and Pep were talking about next season and what they were going to do."

that is real drive
