kick Quinn out

I agree with others' assessment that he's trying to overcompensate and appear balanced, but unlike Gary Neville he doesn't have the intelligence to pull it of with any aplomb.

I also think his commentating MO is brought into even sharper relief by the stark contrast with the procession of ex-united (apart from Neville) and Liverpool players who are hired as talking heads on Sky and the BBC who are incapable of any form of independent thought when it comes to their former clubs.

The fact that City's PR dept haven't told him what to say, unlike united's PR dept clearly do with the likes of Yorke and Schmeichel, who are always disturbingly 'on message', should be seen as a virtuous thing IMO. Whoring yourself like that on national TV is completely undignified and shameful.

It most certainly is GDM. But an easier way for not very bright former footballers to earn a very comfy living from I am struggling to think of.

Leave it out with this Quinn hates City shite. He really, really doesn't. Anyone listening back to the title winning derby would discover that he was shitting himself for the entire second half after Vinnie scored and by the 85th minute he was getting angry every time the Rags got the ball. I remember him scoring twice against us for Sunderland to bring them back to 2-2. He didn't celebrate either goal. The people going on and on about Quinn are giving those of us who are genuine, non paranoid agenda-heads a bad name. You are giving the likes of closet rag Pidginio ammunition.

Get him out. Players not celebrating goals against ex-clubs is in the main part of the course these days, although there will always be exceptions ie Adebayor. His commentary is appalling, he is in no Hall of Fame of mine.

He sounds thick as old boots on the commentary, and yes I always sense he's pro-United and anti-City. Who knows why but he comes across a right twat.

I watched it with the volume off. What was he saying?

I had to turn the volume off as well the other night. I've had to do it a few times since Wigan away a couple of years ago. He hates us and I'm not going to listen to him again. Turd.

Can you not concentrate on the atmosphere rather than the commentary?therefore being able to block the commentary out. Was only watching Swansea before and was asked "what score did they say Valencia was" and I said "oh I don't know, I wasn't listening" because I was listening to the St Gallen fans.

Watching the match with the sound off is weird! Especially a City match; you're missing out in hearing the Blues in full voice in the stands.

It did seem like Quinn and Tyler were slagging us off early in the game with a lot more gusto than they praised us when we were winning. Anyone who thinks Quinn hates City is deluded. His genuine elation when we won the league was pretty obvious. "Stupendous" , he shouted when Aguero scored. In the derby, when Kompany scored, and Mancini had a bust up with ferguson he said something like "City are well on top so best for Mancini to concentrate on what's happening on the pitch . Just ignore alex ferguson and his rantings" . That did it for me. A utd lover/City hater would never say anything like that. Decent bloke who just says it as he sees it. His opinions don't have to match ours all the time. Otherwise you will end up with a sickly "paddy crerrand - mutv" scenario.

Bunch of clowns in this thread, I personally know Niall and I can tell you out straight he is usually very biased towards man city when discussing football.

People these days are quick to forget what he done for us when we had nothing.

This is a disgrace.

If Niall did a personal message, infact no... If Niall went to the house of every one of them on here who say he hates City and told them that he loves the club, they still wouldn't believe him. They hear what they want to hear, i'm convinced of it. There are examples in any match thread where they hear a tone or something said that wasn't even there to hear in the context they think it was, and they turn it into the equivalent of a toddler having a tantrum because it's bigger brother got more dolly mixtures after tea than he did. It's bizarre as fuck.

I've met him and chatted on flights home after games, and he has never had anything bad to say about City. He has, however said bad things about individual matches/performances as have we all.
He has even refused to get into saying bad things about previous Managers he played under or Chairmen who did him wrong.
I don't agree with him on lot's of stuff, but, for me, he's not anti-City

Quinn is a paid pundit, it is his job to appear unbiased. I fully expected to despise Gary Neville the pundit but I don't. Why? Because he's unbiased. Again - it's his job. And if anything Neville has been far more critical of Utd than Quinn has been of us. Now get a life and find something worth complaining about.

Back on this thread - quite amicable of you defending someone you know personally, very loyal and well done but, we don't need dogs here and my irk with Quinn is that the majority of games he commentates (as an ex city pro!), he seems to enjoy mentioning money, negatives and troll press spin more than how well we play. my case on point is the Bayern game . I agree we played dodgy during the first 20 minutes but, what a come back and wow what strength in character we showed... Meanwhile, Quinn just dismissed this during the game and sounded like he was waiting and willing for us to trip up and lose in Europe!

So tell your mate Niall, an extremely normal person asks him to be unbiased with his punditry and for him to have the character and balls to comment on the game without pandering to what the sky producers wants the neutrals to hear.

Yours faithfully, a quite normal city fan!

I haven't liked Quinn since he commentated on us against Liverpool he was absolutely disgusting towards us that game and was wanting Liverpool to score so badly it really did surprise me!

I dunno what all the fuss is about. I have always liked the man.
How the OP can call for him to be sacked is beyond me. Just because he played for us everyone expects him to favour us. He's a pundit ffs and can't be seen to take any sides.

That's what the thread is about, he constantly sides with our opposition and it shouldn't be allowed! He's a CNUT!
