Warsaw to Kiev on the Kiev Express: £72 one-way, £144 return in a 4-berth sleeper.

£104 one-way, £208 return in a 2-berth sleeper.

Alternatively...
3. Berlin to Kiev on the Kashtan:

£111 one-way, £153 Saver return* with bed in 3-berth sleeper.

£143 one-way, £202 Saver return* with bed in 2-berth sleeper.

For 2 people travelling together: £121 Saver return* in 3-berth, £169 Saver return* in 2-berth (per person).

* = Doesn't include the 24-40 euro sleeper supplement for the return leg, as this must be booked in Kiev.

My uncle said was like 120 first class for return. Good bed in it though to get head down and that. So if you time it right you're basically not paying for a hotel.
Word of warning - I'm told that on these overnight trains, its advisable to carry little or nothing of value, and to make sure any cash is attached to your very close person.

Everyone said that about the Poznan train from Krakow and it was full of blues anyway.

Poland is one thing, Ukraine another :) I'm sure you'd be fine in a group, just thought it should be noted.

Which is good advice, no matter where you go or how you go.

Me and my missus kipped in a berth like that from Moscow to Ulanbaator to Beijing, we ended up with a couple from Holland. Top, top trip well worth going.
