If you have any symptoms that could suggest cancer you’re generally seen with 14 days on the NHS.

I had a FIT test just three weeks ago, on the Tuesday, the Doctor called me in said I had a high level of blood in my waste which could be bowel cancer. Had my prep meeting at the hospital on Friday and booked the Colonoscopy and Endoscopy for last Tuesday.

Unfortunately my BP was so high on the day the procedures were cancelled. Seeing the Dr tomorrow for a prescription of Diazepam, Friday at hospital for the pre procedure then next Tuesday at the hospital again.

The stuff you take to clear you out is bleedin horrible and all I can think of is when I come round from my procedure the Doc will be telling me the worst news. I’ve been having abdominal pains for some months now but it’s not that painful so I kind of ignored it.

I’m 64 so had a decent life but having worked hard all my adult life I would like a few more years just to carry on enjoying my retirement (just 18 months at the moment).

You’ll have this mate I know it , it’s a worry I get that you’ve helped me … there’s plenty of courses you’ve not played yet and departure lounges waiting for you Hammo.

I remember after radiotherapy to sort out my prostate cancer I was left with blood in my stools.
A Colonoscopy was done with a diazapam drip to relax muscles etc in that area and after about 20 mins I was given a photo of their search and a written result (not cancer but could be radiation damage).
Back to the cancer hospital and now 4 years later on a yearly checkup.
Perhaps I was lucky but cancer is not always a death sentence.

I'm broken, my sister who is my rock had 2nd appointment with consultant re dementia/Alzheimer's. Her memory is shocking and struggling on a daily basis. He suspects might be some form of brain cancer and sending her for a PET scan.

Benefits office have cut her benefits as deemed fit for work. We've been battling with them for over a year and got an appeal on 29th February.

I'm broken, my sister who is my rock had 2nd appointment with consultant re dementia/Alzheimer's. Her memory is shocking and struggling on a daily basis. He suspects might be some form of brain cancer and sending her for a PET scan.

Benefits office have cut her benefits as deemed fit for work. We've been battling with them for over a year and got an appeal on 29th February.

Fucking DWP wankers.
Most appeals are successful sohopefully yours will be. It will be back dated to when you sent the claim off but if she gets nowt now that's not much help.
My mrs has been waiting over 12 months for her 'review' decision but thankfully she still gets paid whilst waiting.

I've been sending my sister money every month. She has dementia and topped up her electric/gas to £400 as kept forgetting she'd put money on.

She's lost almost 2 stone with stress and worry

I have been waiting eight months or so for my decision , they keep sending me texts saying they still have my forms and will be processing it in due course , what pisses me off was they gave me only three weeks to complete the form and get it back to them on threat of stopping my benefits if i didnt do it in that time frame , then the cunts sit on it for months . They seem oblivious to the amount of stress they cause

They did similar to my mum, despite me working for that benefit and us writing the form out shaped by their points system at the time.

The appeal took a year after I found the phone number of the ESA benefits manager at the time, spoke with her, sent her all the documents and said that I’d go to the media if it wasn't successful.

She’d been on Incapacity Benefit since an accident in work in 1983, but put in the work group of ESA.

She was successful, but she died 6 months later. I left the civil service soon afterwards.

The real shame is that disabled people tend to play down their issues, where this system requires them to amplify them as much as possible.

Hope your sister gets the money she deserves and that her diagnosis is the best it can be. People don’t understand the stress of going through an appeal. It’s horrendous. I’m truly sorry that you’ve had to go through this.
