Kinkladze was a fantastic player who maybe was world class every five matches or so. Robinho needs to up his game as people will soon be looking further than his birth Country for excuses for his poor performances.
i think there is no doubt robinho is the better player...otherwise kinky would have played for madrid etc
Behave. Real are all about superstar players.

Kinkladze would run rings around Robinho.

if he was Brazilian and his name ended with 'o' then he probably would of. He did sign for Ajax dont forget at the time where they were a force. Although he did flop their really :) He loved city, loved the fans, the club, loved everything. Wish he was back now, owuld be great to see how he would fit in.

Robinho produces flashes of brilliance but would've been useless in the team that Kinky played in. He almost had to play on his own as the others were struggling so badly, a pass to a team-mate was like a pass to the opposition.

Kinkladze was better at almost every aspect of the game than Robinho & only his lazy attitude stopped him from being a world legend. He could run with the ball faster than Robinho can run.

In this team he'd be the star not Robbie.

robbie any day kinky took us to div2 then fucked off to ajax a few good games against oxford etc robbie would look a lot better in a team full of brown cook brightwell bishop mcgoldrick vaughan etc

Kinky could of gone when we got relegated from the top flight! but he wanted to stay. It was the poor players around him that got us relegated, not Geo himself. You cant blame him for leaving when we got relegated to the third tier. FFS the lad was crying at the last game. You wouldnt see Robbie doing that now.

Not sure which games you were watching at the time, but Kinky was awesome and with a good squad around him he would of been even bigger of a legend

No chance

could do with a little explanation of your reasoning for that decision

Just Robinho is a far superior player, he's already scored nearly as many goals as kinky (far more prem goals I think) and he's only bewen here a fraction of the time Kinky was with us. This is not the career of a top footballer:

Mretebi Tbilisi
Dinamo Tbilisi
→ 1. FC Saarbrücken (loan)
→ Boca Juniors (loan)
Manchester City
Ajax
→ Derby County (loan)
Derby County
Anorthosis Famagusta
Rubin Kazan 050 0(9)

Kinky stood out because our team was shit. When he moved up a level he wasn't good enough to cut it.

Absolute bollocks my friend! The guy was absolute class and proved that in a very bad side in the Premiere League!

Sorry if this topic has been brought up before, but i mentioned it in another post and thought i owuld start a new topic to get peoples thoughts - we have seen Robbie muhc more now and can now form a better opinion.

Kinkladze > Robbie - any day of the week.

Kinkladze impacted games so much more. Lets also not forget that Kinky was part of a poor team, a relegation team, not just one division drop but two.

Imagine Kinky in the City side today, he would make much more impact than Robbie does. I am sad to say this but Robbie, whilst technically world class, he is not performing aswell as most would hope. In a side of world class players, made of up of world class defenders to support the flair players, i have no doubt that Robbie would shine and be the world star he could be. Sadly not in this City tema though. He is a passenger far too often.

And for those who say, 'Robbie only needs one chance for a bit of magic', well how many moments of magic per game do we need. Is he world class if he does a piece of magic once every six games? If Zab shot every time he got the ball, for six full games, do you think he would score an amazing goal....quite possibly yes.....does that make him a world class FLAIR exiciting player? Of course not. Dont get me wrong, i think Zab is fantastic and does the job that he is supposed to do very well.
Rose-tinted specs. Kinkladze scored very few goals from open play, and did Not influence the games. He had 2 or 3 magical moments in games, but for the most part he was anonymous, and was one of the major factors why we were relegated twice with him in the team

your wrong pal. sorry. kinkladze was in one of THE shittiest city sides ever. i think the original point was can you imagine how good he'd be in todays team, with zabelletta, de jong and kompany doing his donkey work rather than ged brannan and the likes
