Kinky was magical, but he shone because of the tripe he was playing with, and against for that matter.

he wouldnt walk into this team at all! theres a big diffrence in now and when he was with us.

ajax bought him and he couldnt even get into their reserve team. i absolutley love the guy and will never forget what he gave us fans, he was amazing, but only at lower level and he would not get near our first 11.

Please take yourself out side pull your pants down and give yourself a slap, kinky would stroll into the team now.

Agree 100%.The "tripe" he was playing against included the likes of the rags and Liverpool...remember that glorious through ball to Rosler at the swamp?
He made his name in the top division ffs...the guy was sheer class.
I would have him over any of our current midfield players with the exception of Ireland.

I understand that time can play tricks on the memory but watch those clips-the pace, the close control, the finishing-unbelievable.

He destroyed title chasing Newcastle at Maine Road....ok the game ended 3-3 but at times during that game he was unstoppable.

He would be fantastic with some of the players we have now.

Kinky wouldn't get in the current team I'm afraid. Maybe on the right at a push but he hasn't got shit on Robinho and Superman is also a better player

This has to be the thickest quote i have ever read on here.

why is it.

was kinky better than robbie? is he better than superman?

for me no, so why is it thick

With many players nostalgia makes them better. With Kinkladze the opposite seems true for many people.

You shouldn't compare players between eras. They play a different style with different players around them. I believe that Kinky was one of the most talented players I have ever seen at City. We've never had another player that gives the crowd such a lift every time he got the ball. The expectation was incredible. Very exciting player.

Things didn't work out for him sadly and I think part of the reason for that was he stayed with us too long. Had he left after that Premier League season, and I'm sure there were offers for him, he might have gone to a club able to let him truly shine. It's a shame how things worked out because I think he could have gone down as a true great of the game at the right club.

All that most people have said on this is that Gio was more skillfull than robinho and superman and he is/was

And for what its worth I would have him above the pair in what I think is there there true position just behind a front man / attacking midfielder , not saying am right but I am.

Oh and he also played with Scott Hiley who we brought I think from Exeter says it all Ireland and Robinho play with with far better, dont get why people dont rate him really cant, on is day best player still to play at Maine Road/Eastlands in a City Shirt saying that only started going in 83 and I think Peter Bodak by this time had been and gone

KINKLADZE LEGEND
