The only job he failed at was Spartak Moscow. He quit Mallorca because that great frustration with Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, the club's Director of Football, leading to a bad work climate.

I can't consider a 30% win rate as anything but failure for a proposed Manchester City manager.

Sadly for you I suspect Laudrup has already been worded up. He ticks certain very important boxes and his close relationship with Txiki (the shortlist for the Barca job was Pep, Ferguson, Mourinho, Laudrup) means he'll be way higher up the list than Simeone for example.

Maybe so but it'd be a huge risk and I'm wondering whether the new men in charge are willing to take a risk at this stage. If we bring in an unproven coach at this level and we drop out of the Champions League spots in the era of Financial Fair Play it could be disastrous.

Mancini has a much better managerial pedigree than Laudrup even if he comes across as less amicable. They have been managers for around the same amount of time, Mancini has won 12 trophies, Laudrup has won 8 - all in the Danish league with a powerhouse team. 0 outside of it.

Jose blocked Real buying Silva. He's not a fan. Hiddink too old and temporary. Pelligrini is good but is he another Ranieri?

Ah true, Jose doesn't get on with the spanish nationals.
But Jose is the man for this club. We missed out on Robin, so we need to get our man this summer.

Do you think he would want to come and challenge his mate Fergie? They would fall out.

Also if he wants the United job he won't come here.

jose wants to eclipse fergie's achievments. What better place to do so then his rivals?
Much brighter future for this club. Much better structure to work with.

And as for their friendship: Slur will be retiring soon, so Jose wont be seeing him all that much in the future... And he'll survive without fergie's love.
business is business.

Are you serious Billy?

If that is true the Barca boys are not that bright. Ferguson would never have gone there. And I doubt he would have been successful either. Style of play far too neanderthal for Barca and for me.

Laudrup's a good shout. He's taken to the English game like a duck, (or a Swan in this case), to water and Swansea play some very attractive stuff. Would he be 'that' name the owners want though, or would they not be bothered about that?
I wouldn't turn my nose up at him, should Mancini not be at the helm for whatever reason.

I'm sure you've read Hunter's book about Barcelona - so you know how Txiki operates. Our dressing room currently resembles pre Guardiola Barca than post Guardiola Barca. For my money irrespective of who could be better, a guy like Txiki is going to take the view whatever happens the first and most important thing to do is get rid of the coach.

You like and rate Mancini and I respect that ... but it's my opinion that Mancini will be sacked this summer because of his corrosive effect not just in the dressing room but around the club in general.

I have to admit I'm not sure our club is suited for the full Barcelona approach. I think the situation is too different with how protected Barca and Real Madrid are by the Spanish governments, especially in light of how at every turn it seems that football authorities want to put up walls to our success along with stopping other upstart organizations.

I rate Mancini but am not against him going if someone who can guarantee us progress can replace him. If Mourinho wanted the job I'd have no worries about Mancini going. Likewise Klopp.

I just see Laudrup as a huge risk, the only thing he has over Mancini is he's a nicer guy. Mancini has won more and shown he has the steely mentality needed for a high pressure title race - something Laudrup hasn't been in.

Maybe Laudrup will turn out to be a top manager but I fear people are overrating him because he was a great footballer and because he has Swansea playing lovely football like a La Liga side. But I watch La Liga every week and see loads of nice football, but don't hear people suggesting Unai Emery for example - who has never had a win rate under 42% at any of his 5 clubs.

I mean, what makes Laudrup better than Rodgers? Rodgers had a better win % at Swansea, would we want Rodgers?

Even those his quotes alone nearly snuff out the possibility, if you're Klopp why on earth would you leave that beautiful and young Dortmund side? He'll make more money in his career being the next Pep, riding a young wave of superstars to CL and Domestic glory, then living off that reputation than he'd make potentially failing at Chelsea or City with a team he has to remake in the image of the team he just left
