I can't consider a 30% win rate as anything but failure for a proposed Manchester City manager.
Sadly for you I suspect Laudrup has already been worded up. He ticks certain very important boxes and his close relationship with Txiki (the shortlist for the Barca job was Pep, Ferguson, Mourinho, Laudrup) means he'll be way higher up the list than Simeone for example.

Ah true, Jose doesn't get on with the spanish nationals.
But Jose is the man for this club. We missed out on Robin, so we need to get our man this summer.
Do you think he would want to come and challenge his mate Fergie? They would fall out.
Also if he wants the United job he won't come here.

Maybe so but it'd be a huge risk and I'm wondering whether the new men in charge are willing to take a risk at this stage. If we bring in an unproven coach at this level and we drop out of the Champions League spots in the era of Financial Fair Play it could be disastrous.
Mancini has a much better managerial pedigree than Laudrup even if he comes across as less amicable. They have been managers for around the same amount of time, Mancini has won 12 trophies, Laudrup has won 8 - all in the Danish league with a powerhouse team. 0 outside of it.
I have to admit I'm not sure our club is suited for the full Barcelona approach. I think the situation is too different with how protected Barca and Real Madrid are by the Spanish governments, especially in light of how at every turn it seems that football authorities want to put up walls to our success along with stopping other upstart organizations.BillyShears said:LoveCity said:BillyShears said:Sadly for you I suspect Laudrup has already been worded up. I'm sure you've read Hunter's book about Barcelona - so you know how Txiki operates. Our dressing room currently resembles pre Guardiola Barca than post Guardiola Barca. For my money irrespective of who could be better, a guy like Txiki is going to take the view whatever happens the first and most important thing to do is get rid of the coach.
You like and rate Mancini and I respect that ... but it's my opinion that Mancini will be sacked this summer because of his corrosive effect not just in the dressing room but around the club in general.
