Kolarov Leaving?

he'd excel in Italy where there generally isn't much pace and a lot of teams don't use both wingers and attacking fullbacks, something that often happens in England and why he's struggled so much to adapt.

correct.
i love kolorov, i love his application, i was very excited when he signed but sadly he has'nt cut it in the prem. he may well do if given another season but i doubt it.he may not be happy with his own game so if he goes back to italy and we sign a proven prem left back it might be best all round.

To me he has just been ok. When he signed i didin't expect him to be a shining star or stand out performer. He is doing a decent job and slowly adapted.

I dont think he has the skill to be the best LB in the world but he is good enough to do a job for any top side in the world.

It's a question if Mancini and City fans want the best or do they accept that in some positions we just wont have one of the best players.

There aren't many top LB :s in the world tbh. But i do think he has been good enough to earn a stay at City. Whether his future at us is as the first choice Lb or just back-up. If Mancini decides to bring a better Lb..i still expect Kolarov to stay, all top teams need 2 good players in each position.

I think Kola has got a good attitude. And doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who moans. Well he is playing regulary and alwqays giving 100% of his abilties.

We are winning games and he might not be the MOTM but he is playing ok. I think he is enjoying it here in prem and i think he is pretty happy with his performances.

Im pretty sure we will sign another Lb...maybe a better than Kolarov or a back-up. When Kola signed for City Mancini said that Bridge has a future because he wants 2 top players in every position. Unfortunatly..Bridge was too much injured and he didin't play well enough to be a back-up when Kola was injured.

Now we have 1 LB so there will certainly be someone coming.

Can't believe that the judges and juries on here have decided that after a World Cup campaign, little pre-season involvement, a serious injury in first game and debut season in a new and tougher league that we we should bin Kolarov.
Sure we need depth at the position but AK (and Boateng) have much improvement in them.
Don't remember VK and NdJ having outstanding first seasons either. Good job we didn't ease them out, eh?

Not too many better options out there if you ask me. I like the guy.

Well, the way most Bluemooners have been criticising him lately, I wouldn't blame him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... nsfer.html

Can I drive him to the airport?

We've been quite right to criticize, and he needs a reality check. His form has improved but is still not at the 'next level' where he needs to be for us.
So, if he wants out - byeee.

Kolarov is taking alot of flack because he has not lived up to his billing.
The main issue for me was that we required a left back who offered more than we already had and who would compliment our system of play.

We needed a player that would hit the ground running, not one that was a gamble and who would need at least a season to 'bed in' as we didn't have the luxury of an alternative should he not work out.
While the player himself could, imo,be doing more to help himself,Mancini's decision to purchase should also be questioned.

I'd never seen the lad play but the hype, videos's,fee and obviously scouting reports suggested we had bought a good un and that may yet prove the case, however,i'm yet to witness much to support that hope.

Well, he doesn't want out. I have watched him in those training pics and in the game. He looks like he has started to enojy life in manchester outside and on the pitch. Now there is Edin who is good friends with him and speak same language. He has done ok so far and will improve with time. Can't wait for the next season. I think we will see the best of our signings.

All our signings signed a long-term deal. Which means that we signed them for the long-term.

This was Mancinis quotes when he signed Kolarov:

Mancini: "I first saw Kolarov in his Lazio debut back in 2007. I have watched him a lot since then and so have the Manchester City scouts.

"His attacking capability is very good. He is fast and can shoot with power and accuracy.

"He also has the ability to play in numerous positions and is very good in midfield. This is an additional benefit to the team.

"He has a fantastic international career ahead of him. I am looking forward to working with him."

It's clear that Mancini wanted him here and knows his ability. There is no way he will just be sold after 1 season. You will see plenty of years of him here at City. So get used to it.

Its just typical of people to expect players to be instant successes. Let them have a season to adapt and then start judging them.

Didier Drogba
Michael Essien
Cristano Ronaldo
Patrick Evra
Sami Nasri
Thierry Henry
Masherano and Tevez

None of these players immediately settled into English football but they proved them to be very good players

Lets give kolarov, Dzeko, Boateng, a chance before we start booting them out of the door

no problem with your list or giving kolorov time to adapt, where we went wrong was letting bridge go, kolorov from his very early days looked shaky but we no cover.stupid imo.

-- Sat Apr 30, 2011 12:28 pm --

thats quite a good likeness.

I think Bob genuinely wanted Bridge to compete for the LB spot but became so frustrated with his inability to stay fit for more than a game or two that he released him to WH to see if he could get a run of games and then decide if he's worth persevering with.
We'll see in the summer but my view is that we will bring someone else in.

Bob decided that we would muddle through for the rest of this season with a combination of Zab and Lescott as backup but Toure's suspension, Boateng and Cunningham's injuries and Zab's family problems have left us very thin on the ground at times.
