He gets criticised because of his defence problems but look at how many times Clichy has cost us in a big game.
Kolarov, very rarely gets taken apart like Clichy does.

Clichy had a very good first season with us but the last two have been very average and the fact that he doesn't contribute much going forward means it's no surprise that Kolarov has edged ahead of him. He may not be the greatest defender but at the same time I'd agree with the previous poster that he doesn't get ripped apart too often either.

For a full back he has no pace whatsoever and time after time thats what lets him down.As far as Clichy goes I have to agree with you that he does appear to have gone slightly backwards.However,he has far more pace than Kolarov,but I would prefer to see him play more as a left sided midfielder,as his crossing at times is something that Clichy aint got.
Looks like we`ll have to agree to disagree LB.

Clichy was absolutely terrorised by that Wigan player in the Cup final, arguably at fault for rags winner in CS, at fault for the free-kick that lead to another last minute rag winner. He's normally very solid defensively but when he's poor, he's utter dogshit.

Rags home last season, wigan cup final, torres at bridge this season, the way suarez shrugged him off like he's not even there at anfield. probably more.

Get grip girls. I thought that we had won the league last season, with these two rotating throughout. Some people forget what a great time it is to be a Blue. One week it's Dzeko then Nasri then Demi then Kolorov then jolean then Clichy. Just get off their fuckin backs.

Kolarov over Clichy every time for me.Although i'd probably keep them both,I don't think it's a problem area.I think Vinny made more mistakes than them both last season,although Demichelis always took the blame.

Yaya Toure v numerous midfielders.Joe Hart BIG FUCKING time.Kompany,too many this season.Does it make them bad players ? Does it fuck.I expect Clichy to come back stronger and IMO opinion is still the better defender out of the two.
