Besides, Zabaleta has played at left back on numerous occasions, particularly when Kolarov was injured (or when Mancini just didn't have the confidence to play him), and he's been much more competent than has Kolarov despite being played out of position.
Kolarov has quite simply just been a dreadful signing, and I don't think he'll get the benefit of another season as it's clearly evident he simply hasn't got the required attributes to make it as a fullback in England.
I'm not saying Kolarov is the best left back around, but he has played well in some games and after a season in England, should be given next season before he is so harshly judged.
Yet again, yesterday, he wasn't the worst player on the park, yet he gets a massive thread, with many blaming him, when he was far from fault for the goals.

Im a big fan of Zabaleta also and love his commitment to the team, but for example his first half showing against United in the semi was quite poor and I have no doubt if that was Kolarov he would be castigated from all sides for that performance. No one claims he has been fantastic throughout this season yet he seems to be judged differently to all other players.
Silva is our creative outlet and quite rightly drops inside to collect the ball and make things happen from central areas, unfortunately this does Kolarov few favours as he then lacks cover if the move breaks down. For me Silva should be at the tip of the three in midfield, with a Milner or Johnson on the offering protection which would help Kolarov immensely. As yet Mancini seems uncomfortable without the three of Yaya/Barry/De Jong/Vieira in the centre as he believs this will allow more control of the game.

i would love to say we'll see the best of him next season but sadly he's shite, this is as good as it gets

I like Kolarov....hope he comes good next season.
Think sometimes people forget that he's got Silva playing in front of him...which leaves him exposed the majority of the time.

I'd rather him just stay back and defend all the time, but only go up for corners and set pieces.

There should be a left sided midfielder pressing Neville and not the left full back

Shockock horror, new signing in new country in new league with new players the bulk of which haven't been together more than 12 months doesn't immediately play like the fans want him to.
