not happy with our defending at the moment. and i thought kolarov was poor tonight.

we are crying out for de jong to return i think. for me both barry and yaya didn't play very well. didn't feel we coped well with their counter attacks.

Kolarov was excellent again today. His only shot that wasn't blocked went in, he supports that side well enough, and he dealt with Lavezzi well whenever he came down his side. Are you sure you're not just seeing what you want to see, hmm?

The problem i have with him is the way we set out we need our full backs need to push on and give us width, it just takes him an eternity to get back.

He's not effective enough for our system, if it was like NFL and bring on a kicker for free kicks then great, but the bad out does the good i'm afraid.

It was a mistake not playing clichy as I think Nasri works well with him.

He did save us though so not going to be too harsh.

It was crying out for Clichy I agree. I think we would have won if he'd have started, and also if we brought Tevez on earlier.

It's a shame Kolarov can't just come on for free-kicks and then go back off again.

Why, he looked off-pace and disinterested.

To be fair he still doesn't look fit, but when Napoli was having their spell after the break, we needed to change things, give them something to worry about. Clichy was a must, then it had to be either Tevez or AJ (or both), they should have got a good 30-35 mins, not 15 at the end.

With the defensive wall and three centre halves napoli put out, we were crying out for overlapping width. The two full backs on the park didn't give it. The changes we made gave us that width, but then the tevez gamble failed and we lost our momentum.

Not a disaster though. I fancy us to win games away in the cl

I think having played in Italy might have had a slight bearing on his choice. Although I agree Clichy would have been my first choice

Please point out where in my post i blame him for tonights result?

I'm talking about his general gameplay, he's too slow and not good enough, in my opinion of course.

I actually stated in the other thread that i thought a draw was a fair result and it was a good baptism to the tournament.
