Kolarov

Kolarov saved the game , and generally played well . He held down his full back position well , and kept anyone who ran at him , relatively quiet . People will say he is the weak link because the goal came from his side and also due to the fact that he had no impact going forward . But the problem with that is that for the goal , he had tried to get up and support and give us some natural width , we weren't expected to lose the ball so high up , and for them to break with such pace and speed , so that wasn't his fault. His attacking intent against Napoli was non existent , but again that wasn't down to him . He bombs on when he can , but Napoli dealt with that extremely well . Whenever they saw an over lap available , they doubled up as quick as they could and then Kolarov couldn't really do much . He isn't a weak link , to be honest he has played very very well since the end of last season and is still going strong now . He has come on leaps and bounds since he came here , and it is unfortunate for him that Clichy is playing very well in terms of going forward and defending. Currently , I don't think there is a weak link worth noting , the goals we concede come from uncharacteristic mistakes that rarely ever happen , and at some point every individual makes them , so surely everyone can't be a weak link ?

Hes one of the best weve had, get a grip you whinging tit

This.

Excellent player, Mancini even used him on the left wing instead of full-back last season, now who I am to listen to, a world-class manager or some numpty?

this.

and add to this that i would like to see which manager in an home game against a defensive italian side where you can expect to get a lot free kicks and corners would renounce to a player with the left foot kolarov has

Yeah i agree that Kolarov was ONLY picked with the HOPE that we get free kicks and corners?.........really?

Afterall everyone else in our squad are shit at taking free kicks aren't they? pffft

I took you as having a bit more savvy than that Mancio, i counldn't of been more wrong.

2 crosses the entire game at home is well by your standards?
No offense, but number of crosses is not the only determining factor in how a fullback plays.

Didn't know you'd had a ban. That's pretty funny . I wondered why you were suddenly being all nice .

And I remember you telling me and Billy that you'd been informed by a mod that it was only a matter of time before we were banned....

Hilarious.

I think you've done a pretty good job at putting yourself in that category with recent posts lol

I have changed my opinion about Kola.

I thought that having 2 experienced full-backs was a good thing when we signed Clichy.

But tbh, Clichy is so much better IMO. I like to watch his link-up play and movement and pace. He is a top full-back.

But Kolarov....good shot and freekick. But his link-up play is slow and he lacks pace.

Both are 26-years old. And if both are fit...im failing to see how both will get enough games when you consider that both are at the age where they should play alot and nail the spot.

I think Kolarov should be sold. January or in the summer. I think it's a bit unfair to let Kolarov sitt in the stands for most league games and then only play in cups. And it's unfair to let Clichy play most of the prem games and sitt and watch the CL games.

Kolarov probably suits Serie A the best. And there has been talk of Juve and i think if they want him he should be sold there.

Both Clichy and Kola can only play LB so it's not the same situation as with Zabba and Richards. I think it's fine having both Richards and Zabba. When you consider that Richards is also a bit injury-prone, and Zabba can paly other positions aswell.

I hope City have their scouts watching for the best and most promising 18-20 year old LB:s.

I would probably rather see a young understudy to Clichy. Having both Kolarov and Clichy competing for 1 position which is not as needed to rotate as is the midfield and forwards positions is a bit too rich for me.
