I think Clichy is definitely the better of the 2 but I do respect Kolarov for playing with a broken nose last night an scoring.
He's not the best left back in the world but he gives 100% every time.

exaclty!! and he had that goal saved in the first half! its like people forget he can score goals! he has a mean foot on him we call it a kolarov special for free kicks.

Why doesn't he take corners and delivery set pieces? The one other free kick he took would've been a certain goal had someone got a touch on it and they very nearly did.

Nasri's corners found a man well enough but lacked pace so it was difficult to get enough force behind them imo.

The problem i have with him is the way we set out we need our full backs need to push on and give us width, it just takes him an eternity to get back.

He's not effective enough for our system, if it was like NFL and bring on a kicker for free kicks then great, but the bad out does the good i'm afraid.

We're not blaming him for the result, it's just a general opinion of him as a player. I've thought this all last year and I just can't see any signs of him improving.

I guess I'm just one of them supporters who watch the game and not the scoresheet.

I agree I believe Mancini missed a trick there. We had most of the possession (63%) but with us playing most of our football in front of the Napoli defence we needed speedy wingers/fullbacks to get behind them and feed Edin to get us the goals. Their left back was Shauny's size and Richards would have mullered him down that wing.

I don't think so. Give some credit to Napoli. Their positioning was excellent.

He didn't have a terrible game or a great game, i don't think anyone did if i'm honest, but i would prefer to see Clichy starting at left back in as many games as he can.

Kolarov had a decent game in my opinion, he was far better than Augero, Nasri and Lescott for sure

Kolarov was excellent again today. His only shot that wasn't blocked went in, he supports that side well enough, and he dealt with Lavezzi well whenever he came down his side. Are you sure you're not just seeing what you want to see, hmm?

Did you watch the game ? Kolarov was shocking apart from his goal,Laveezzi took him to the cleaners

Maybe excellent was a slight exaggeration, but he was decent at least. To say he was shocking is… I can't think of a word for it. It's clinically obese.
And how did Lavezzi take him to the cleaners when the single time he ran at him, he defended it well and put it out for a corner. Bear in mind Lavezzi was playing very much on the left or very centrally.
