Kolarov

De Sciglio is a great player but would cost a fortune and would expect to be first choice he is for Italy and AC Milan and is being talked about as the next Maldini in my opinion he would be very very difficult to sign and thats even if he wants to move to us. Kolarov is decent player great going forward but isn't good enough defensively, if we sell him I would like us to sign a young player (under 17) and develop him or promote a youth player we need home grown players for CL.

I hope not to hear a single complaint when we're drummed out of the CL group stages if we give youth a chance.

I think we might experiment with youth in the league cup and maybe certain league games but NOT in the CL
Then we have a frighteningly thin squad in regards to Champions League setup.

Exactly.

Injuries, league season, etc. I'm all for youth, but they are rarely key players immediately. And even when they contribute, they can burn out quickly. Happened to us with Sterling.

-- Thu Jun 27, 2013 3:14 pm --

Who will be your backup left-back?

Would like Rekik to be given the game time he has played left back before, and if he doesn't work out we can head into the transfer market in Jan but I think we need to start taking chances on our young players.

He wants to go:

Time to party....

Anybody suggested that if Kolarov is Inter bound according to reliable journalist Alfredo Pedullà. What about Nagatomo? Surely he would add a lot of competition to both full backs, not seen alot of him but he looks like he can play both right and left, great with both feet. Looks world class!

Various media and agent sources saying a €7m deal is getting close to completion.

Funds to be used towards Pepe I presume.

Our squad is stronger with Kolarov than without, that's for sure.

I hope we don't sell him without a fitting backup in mind.

I'm sure we have a few players in mind for his position, Txiki will be fully aware of it.
