Kolo Shout Out

One Swallow does not make a summer, been awful in his time at City, glad when hes gone.

Nice guy and I wish him well.

I agree. I hope we re-sign Richard Dunne in the Summer aswell.

best performance i've seen him have in our shirt though must admit i was worried before the start seeing the whole line-up.

Hope the Yaya/Kolo dance was in full effect today!!

He played all but 1 of Arsenal's "invincible" season. He is 31, has a wealth of experience, and arguably still has 2 or 3 good years in front of him.

Would certainly offer him an extension, and would hope he took it, but would understand if he didn't if QPR offered him daft money to close his career.

Doubt he would join a championship team for any money..

Sign Him up !! He played well v Rags leeds and amazing today id keep him and tbh will keep yaya happy too so needs to be done. Id rather sell lescott tbh get 8-10 million for him if possible..

A very good performance from Francois but I think it is best we part company at the end of the season.

He is a great pro but if we are as reported interested in Hummells or Subotic or the Brazilian guy at Roma then he will be further down the pecking order

I know he is off at the end of the season but I haven't seen anyone comment on his performance today. He was outstanding. I would say sign him up but the problem is I doubt he will have another performance like today ever again. He would be good to keep around the club as I believe his mentality and leadership is second to none....

good shout. he's back to his best, happy for him.

To be fair to him he has played well in all of his games this year.

It is tempting to keep him on but this summer will be about streamlining the squad and having Kolo and Lescott on 90k+ when you have Richards who can play there or Rekik will mean they will both move on.

Fair play to him though keeping himself fit and ready to play as he has been needed at times this season. Calming influence next to Nastasic as well unlike Bambi on ice Lescott who doesn't paint a great picture of confidence and maturity when placed alongside anyone but Kompany.

I've not seen him put in a bad performance this year, he's one of these players that people love to slate for no really good reason. Such as a game earlier this year when I heard some nobhead behind me yelling "Get off Kolo you Clown, the African Cup of Nations can't come soon enough!"....

He was superb today and the way he handled that 2-1 situation was absolutely brilliant defending. Good to see the other defenders embrace him during the celebrations for the first goal, it was vital looking back.

He's a great squad player and I'd be happy for him to stay. He has a great understanding with Nastasic too,

Well played Kolo!

If we let both Kolo and Lescott go in the Summer it leaves us with;

Vinny - Nastasic - Rekik - Richards.

Firing on all fronts that is at least one short and seeing as we completely messed up the summer Transfer window due to the confusion created by the FFP rules and I cant think of anyone off hand who is both affordable or open to a move we should really keep either Kolo or Lescott.

Have a good look at the Champions League Matches - their really isn't one fantastic world class defender in the entire competition.

As it stands right now I rate Vinny as one of the best 3 or 4 centre backs in the World. In 45 years of watching Football I dont rate Vinny in the top fifty defenders that I have ever seen. That is how low the standard is.

Just as he was vs Leeds and few other games he played recently.

agreed.
What's this about him being off at end of season?
His contract expires and it doesn't look like we are going to give him a new one so he is looking at offers from Turkey, UAE and so on.

They will give him a nice big wage and a 2-3 year contract as well as him starting every game.

You do realise that someone is going to ask you to name the 50 defenders who are or were better than Kompany.

Yep my MOTM too, the way he defended the 2 on 1 break in the 2nd half was outstanding.

Indeed. There was a situation last season where he got it wrong and we conceded. But today, he got it right and was good all round. A MOM contender for sure.

Working on the list right now Stony, while the rest of the Bluemoon posters get some shut eye!
