Kolo Toure [Merged]

Some of the stuff I've read from (some) Arsenal fans is laughable - Toure and Adebayor are shit, overrated and the most expendable players in the squad....

....bollocks.

Toure and Adebayor will prove to be vital additions to the City squad.

Re: I think you owe me an apology ;)

Who do you think owes you an apology?

I think we should much rather go for Bruno Alves to partner Toure, than Lescott.

Can he pass it out of defence? That's what we need more than anything. I can't watch another season of Dunnie booting 50 yard balls into no man's land and giving away possession needlessly. Then when we come under loads of defensive pressure we blame it on Robinho for not working hard enough. Christ.

I'd rather we have defenders that can defend. The midfield should make themselves available for the easy pass out of defence, too often there was no options for our defenders other than to punt it forward.

not liking the 16m price tag as hes in his last year but hes a decent player.
Some sources are quoting £14 Million, but either way it's good value, as was the Adebayor signing

These are top quality players who Arsenal will not easily be able to replace for the transfer fee. Maybe Wenger has identified players already at the club who can step into their shoes,or maybe he has other irons in the transfer market.

There is absolutely no doubting the ambition of MCFC. I'm still finding it difficult to believe that we are signing players of this calibre when a couple of seasons ago we were really struggling. Commentators are already making a great deal about the monies spent, and it is remarkable. But I wouldn't say we have over-paid for any of the signings this Summer.

RSC was a little on the steep side if you ask me... £14m for Toure is a little overpriced too imho, £12m is more like it.

But fuck it, it's not my money! :) :) :)

We don't have to sacrifice either quality now. We have sufficient funds to secure defenders who can defend and are comfortable on the ball which I think Toure is.

Excellent signing for me. Could be captain next year as well.
