Kolo Toure

So you don't think it's pertinent that Kolo got a drugs ban for taking slimming pills?

I fail to see how that is relevant now. He served his ban and im sure our sports scientists have worked out a plan for him as an individual. Perhaps his perfomance on saturdays shows the value in having them.

Not saying he didn't play well on Saturday, however you're deluded if you don't think he's overweight.

Kolo was in his time a world class centre half, his powers have diminshed as all players do with age, but he still commands i feel the respect of his teamates and without our leader and inspiration Vinny on saturday Kolo did a great job with a kid besides him. He should be recognised as having played very well and we should appreciate the fact we have somebody as capable to step in when needed.
Totally agree, Kolo is now a back up player at best (a very well paid one I will admit), but as I said above he's done pretty well in every game he's been asked to fill in this season (and I don't agree with the "wank" comment for Anfield personally, the whole team was poor that day). We are lucky to have someone who isn't complaining about not getting game time, despite having been fined heavily by the club last season, and can come in and fill in capably in a couple of different roles. His experience has been valuable, and I think his exclusion from the CL squad was a mistake by Mancini, had he been available in Amsterdam for the 3 at the back role, we may well have won, and perhaps even gone on to qualify.

Not overweight at all and he is very quick, not many quicker centre-backs than him in the Premier League for sure. Jarvis is known for his pace and Kolo kept up with him at Upton Park a few games ago.

Just as he did with Sterling at Anfield.

The fact is that as we need four strikers we also need 4 centre halfs, preferably two left sided and two right sided and at the minute thats what we have got. If Micah was fit then Kolo probably wouldnt be getting the game time but he is certainly doing okay at the minute.

Wow, is that picture from this season?

I am trying to work out how having a large bottom stops you being a decent footballer.

Is there anyone with knowledge of physiology who can explain it please

Arse

I don't think anyone has said that having a large bottom would automatically stop you from being a good footballer but I think generally it isn't going to increase a player's mobility. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a professional athlete who is getting paid hansomely to be able to keep his weight at an appropriate level. I have had a bit of grief over my comments but I honestly think he was overweight for a prem footballer in that Liverpool away match and I don't think that is acceptable. If a player happens to be in poor form then that happens from time to time and is understandable but I don't think any Premier League footballer should have weight issues because that is something that is very much within their own control.
Some people just have big bums! And imo it would in no way slow a player down or make him less mobile and Kolo himself is a very fast and mobile player
