Why? I'd like to have a debate with you. :)

Yes i know that, but at this time of the season im not slating anyone as they need to play as a team and get us to the end with objectives complete

At the end of the season i will vent my fury at the people i feel have let us down
Yaya, Boateng, Kolarov, Barry, Vieira, Jo, Milner, Dzeko and Mancini have let me down.

Barca, United and many other top clubs have full squads of 25 players that show this level of commitment, drive, determination, effort.

Regardless of whether some of United's players aren't as talented as some of ours, this is the reason why the Rags say they wouldn't swap any of their players with ours apart from those in my list. They are players I get compliments about from Rag fans, nobody else.

This is what annoys me more than anything,in the main we seem to buy spineless players, ones that lack the drive and determination to be the best.

I'ts been said many times before by our detractors but i fear,in many cases,it's true - we lack a winning mentality - Regretabbly i can only lay blame with the management for this.

Hart, Richards, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Barry, Yaya, Silva, Tevez, Balotelli, Johnson are all as good or better than De Jong. I just don't buy how effective he is at breaking up plays when Barry has more tackles, won more headers and committed more fouls in the league so far.

The real work is closing off angles before the opponent can use them. Like Mascherano and Makalele, NDJ is often one or two steps ahead of the game. He also benefits from his reputation, midfielders just don't fancy moving into his area. It's in sharp contrast to Barry who can be very passive off the ball, eventually arriving a fraction too late and has to foul. He also combines well with other players when closing down.

The other thing NDJ does well is take fewer touches before releasing the ball. He helps set the tempo, and we're a far more effective counter attacking unit simply because he reacts first when a set-play breaks down, and drives forward the 6 yards which open up the whole pitch.

I'm not a stats man but I'd be confident that we win a lot more games when De Jong is in the team. Love the man the best dm in the world IMO.
I'm concinced we've missed him horribly. Our midfield looked great earlier in the season, recently it's been the source of all our woes..

don't think kompany or de jong would get in any of the other top 5 first 11 to be fair.

Very wrong with that me thinks.

Agreed, and given the opportunity i feel him,Milner and Silva could forge a very effective understanding.

Kompany is incredible and the 2nd best CB in the league.

However De Jong is absurdly overrated by city fans (due to his commitment and warrior-like qualities).
He is a useful squad player, nothing more.

So who would you play instead?
