Kompany calls on Premier League clubs to drop ticket prices

I don't expect it to happen but cutting the price of match day tickets across the board is absolutely the right thing to do.

Too many blues have gotten out of the habit of going to matches, and too many of our younger fans will only ever know TV matches.

I don't buy this idea that cheaper tickets would result in a rush of people buying tickets and just not turning up.

Cheaper tickets and a good exchange is exactly what we need.

I attend only about 5 games a season due to ticket prices, if tickets were £20 ish I would attend treble the number if not more. (Simple) Haven't got a season ticket due to work and different kick off times.

Join a Supporters Club and there are often the odd spare for Home games going very cheap. Lots of people work shifts etc and can’t make every game.

If you look ahead earlier there was loads of cheap tickets when Watford returned the top tier - £30 adults and £10 under 18, think it was £5 for under 16s
Good, but not always possible to know that far in advance you can make it.

Kids shouldn't pay more than a tenner in any non corporate/hospitality seat imo.

Except nobody has said that.

I can only imagine that you haven't read the thread because that has never been mentioned.

I've read the thread and replied throughout, i take it you haven't read that?

Quote one poster that said that.

I’ll wait right here.

SWP - you already don't like me from previous postings the last few years so i wont rise to that bait thank you! Wait as long as you like.

As you all know that people in this thread have said yes reduce season tickets - but not for everyone, only for those who never miss a match. I can quote that quite a few times actually. I'll wait right here. Oh hang on no i'm busy, some of us have kids - and my son talks more sense than you SWP, even though he can't talk yet ;)

The players should pay for the fans tickets..time to start giving back to the poor people. C'mon city

The solution has just occurred to me.

It’s a bit like the cup scheme except you pay £200 upfront to reserve a specific seat. Then you can book your ticket for a game from 3 weeks beforehand and, when you do, you get £10 off the advertised price. So if the ticket is priced at £40 you pay £30. Any seats not taken a week before the game go on open sale to members. If you have a ticket & can’t go and then up to 24 hours before the game you can release the seat and you get the discounted price you actually paid for the ticket back.

The club could even apply dynamic pricing in the final week, increasing the price if it’s a popular game and reducing it if it’s not selling that well.

You obviously can’t read.

No clue about having words with you before sorry. You can’t have been memorable. Although adding your IQ to your username is quite cool I must admit.

You stated:

“Only on bluemoan would we have city fans saying that we SHOULDN'T reduce season ticket prices around the ground.”

No one has said that. Everyone has been in favour, what they are talking about, that you failed to comprehend, is how that can be combined with ensuring all seats are taken up as Kompany is talking about wanting a full and bouncing stadium.

You can blame the club for a lot of that. It was the Spurs game I think as I'd recorded it and watched it back when I got home. There was a block of two rows empty in 109 about 10 rows back. Not just a few seats but about two dozen in a group. I've seen the some of the women players sat in that area previously so I assume the club are giving them these tickets and it's a group they keep back. Same in the 1st tier of the North Stand as there's always big groups in there & I think they allocate a load of tickets to the staff/Academy players and their families.

If it were up to me, I'd keep those seats in the third tier os even if they're not taken, they're not visible. That's not because I'm bothered about seeing empty seats on TV but it's psychological. If you see the stadium is full and rocking, I suspect you'd actually want to be there more than if you see it with empty seats.
What really gets my goat is during the relocation window.
You log on and find there's only a few seats available to locate into, even though you've seen empty rows and seats all season in the same place.

I’ve worked out the answer;

All of tier 1 to be unallocated safe standing at £15 a ticket.

It would be full as bollocks, noisy as fuck and would show a single space every week.

Job done. Close the thread.

you are right SWP
