Kompany calls on Premier League clubs to drop ticket prices

I'm not sure a cheaper ST would get me to attend more matches. Too easy to watch the game elsewhere now hence why people miss games. Not feeling too good/long day at work/late home then you can watch most games on sky/BT so not the end of the world if you don't watch it live. Kick offs too late in midweek for kids. Why suddenly 8pm? Cheaper tickets is more likely to make more people miss games I would say.

The prices don't piss me off at all. I think they are fair for ST holders but maybe not so much for match day fans.

Accessibility/parking is becoming a problem for some especially following the parking restrictions. I know some older fans who don't go to midweek matches due to this.

I attend only about 5 games a season due to ticket prices, if tickets were £20 ish I would attend treble the number if not more. (Simple) Haven't got a season ticket due to work and different kick off times.
Get on the facebook ticket group mate, nearly always tickets going on there because people can't make games, apart from the derby, just about always cheaper than buying from the club.

The solution has just occurred to me.

It’s a bit like the cup scheme except you pay £200 upfront to reserve a specific seat. Then you can book your ticket for a game from 3 weeks beforehand and, when you do, you get £10 off the advertised price. So if the ticket is priced at £40 you pay £30. Any seats not taken a week before the game go on open sale to members. If you have a ticket & can’t go and then up to 24 hours before the game you can release the seat and you get the discounted price you actually paid for the ticket back.

The club could even apply dynamic pricing in the final week, increasing the price if it’s a popular game and reducing it if it’s not selling that well.
innovative PB, as I said in previous post the club are innovative in many aspects, cant see why ticket prices aren't looked at in similar innovative ways to ensure core and more importantly younger fans have access to tickets, esp those in which ST holders cant make the game.

Honestly a 10% discount across the board would be a great thank you and redress last years uncalled for increase.
It would easily be absorbed in the greater scheme of things.
Enough of the silly pints for 1.50 etc etc.......
Get it done city.

It isn't just the price, there are lots of other variables. The cheap seats at city are the furthest from the pitch so add nothing to the atmosphere, and the cheaper the tickets the less fans would feel obliged to go get get VFM, but making more justifiable to hold onto STs just for bigger games. Current match goers are not going to give up if it gets cheaper.

More philosophical than business. Why charge fans at all when money does not exist? Does football exist? We only believe it does as we are told. The Premier League can't be damaged, as only a soul can sustain damage, and the Premier League is devoid of any soul - Socrates

He was ahead of his time.

cheaper tickets will just mean point whores will just buy the 4 or 8 they get entitled to and flog them on the ticketing sites for a quick buck. Touts will just snap them up and the normal folk will just moan that it's too cold, too far to travel, can't park, have work, kids have to be in bed etc. and any youngsters who do buy them will spend half the game in the bogs getting coked up and the other half chanting paedo songs. Besides, how could you ever be so cruel to take away Soriano's dream of monetising the 500m global fans we have, would be like giving him a lump of coal for Christmas.

Limit it to one ticket per person until they reach a certain points quota that allows them to buy 2.

I don’t see why 1 person should be able to purchase 3 or more tickets unless there are a mass amount of tickets available within 3-4 days of a match.

Club don't care who buys the tickets. It's all been about ££££ for years now.
