The Blues centre-back was sent for a scan on a calf injury picked up in training, leading to fears he could be set for a lengthy absence.
Manchester City's injury fears over Vincent Kompany have been eased by Belgium boss Marc Wilmots.
The 28-year-old was sent for a scan on a calf problem picked up during a training session with his country on Wednesday, leaving Blues fans braced for the worst.
However, writing on his official Twitter account, Wilmots has revealed that Kompany has not sustained a long-term injury..
And the City skipper could even feature in the friendly clash with Australia in Liege on Thursday.
"Good news about Vincent Kompany's scan," he wrote.
"He warms up tomorrow and then we decide whether he can player. We aren't going to take unnecessary risks!"
Kompany has started all three of City's games so far this season.
