Just said on SSN that if the appeal is unsuccessful Kompany will miss 4 games instead of 3.

The club are taking a huge risk with the thought he could potentially be out for Liverpool.

Sky Sports News In Giving out wrong information shocker! Has this ever happened before! No way can this appeal be deemed frivolous

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Apart from arse licking red sympathisers everyone has said it was never a red and should be overturned but Sky start talking about it being frivolous. Oops forgot they are part of the arse licking.........

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Definately wont be considered as a frivolous appeal as City genuinely believe a mistake has been made.

An example of a frivolous appeal was when Camel Gob appealed even though there was footage of him punching another player. The scum appealed so that Camel Gob would be available for their next game while the appeal was heard (cant remember which game). He was banged to rights so correctly got a 4th game on his ban for a frivolous appeal.

Daily Mail adding deliberate pressure on FA claiming they have info it won't be rescinded and mentioning Souness and Redknapp backed Dean's decision.

However, no word about Schmeichel's and Hansen's thoughts.

If the FA feels pressure from the Mail then really the human race has no hope. I would be shocked if they even read it or cared what any other fucker thinks when they come to the decision of whether the ref was correct or not

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

I doubt that the ban will be overturned, but it would be quite wrong for it to be deemed frivolous. Bans really should only be deemed frivolous if clubs play the system to avoid the player missing a particular match.

In an ideal world whenever a player is sent off the incident should be reviewed and the appropriate ban added to the punishment already incurred by virtue of the player being sent off. For practical reasons the FA doesn't do that but imposes automatic bans. That's fine, but such a system should also include a rigorous appeals process. The system shouldn't bully clubs into not appealing.

Kompany's challenge was borderline and he was sent off by a referee viewing the incident in real time. Its in the wider interest of the game that the challenge is reviewed and its legitimcy confirmed one way or the other. That would establish a basis for consistent decision making in the future. If the sending off isnt reviewed then it effectively establishes a benchmark which may or not be correct.
