Re: Kompany red card and appeal

This is ridiculous another example of the rag FA fucking us over, i knew the appeal wouldn't be successful they always back the referee till the end. This could have destroyed our campaign now!

I see commonsense has prevailed for once. To be honest, I didn't think it would get rescinded despite it being a ridiculous decision to send him off!
It's not 'for once' though, is it?

Pablo's was overturned in the same fixture two seasons ago. Of course there are people, powerful people, who want to see us fail, but perhaps we should all remember moments such as this when trying to claim the whole World is against us.

Much of it is, but there are many who can see which way the wind is blowing too.

That's true - I'd forgotten about Zab's being rescinded. On the flip side, we've had a fair few retrospective bans handed down in recent years - SWP at Stoke being one of the most ridiculous. I'll add that I think a lot of it depends on the ref involved - some just can't seem to admit they made a mistake but Dean seems to be one of the better ones on that score.

I'm not big into the agenda thing but sometimes things happen that leave you wondering. As you say, it's more down to individuals in positions of authority that have it in for us rather than whole organisations themselves.
Fair play, and as you say, the overall situation is much more complex than some unified conspiracy.

There are still those that still seek to undermine us. It is them to which our attention needs to be directed. The key thing is spotting them.

The thing was it was always going to be appealed as there was enough doubt, meaning the appeal wasn't frivolous, some on here need to realise what is meant by a frivolous appeal and then maybe then their thinking would be different on the matter

Sensible thinking on bluemoon, now there's a thought.

Everyone on here has made mistakes from the 'Mancini isn't good enough to win the league' crew downwards.

I thought Sergio may be out for the season and run off to Madrid, so what do I know...

Cracking news, and at last some commonsense has been used. A big thank you should go to, all the players from other clubs, some media folk (Hansen and Gray come to mind) and ex players, that have stuck up for Vinny over the tackle.

It shouldn't matter what anyone in the media thinks or says, if Mike Deane looked at it again from a side view the one we have all seen he would not have sent Kompany off he wouldnt have even given a foul, and that is the big thing here it wasnt even a foul,

he would have been more likely to book Wilshire who had over run the ball and dived in if anything he made contact with Kompany not the other way, so for me appealing this and having it upheld was never in doubt, no matter who in the media or press thought it should have stood or not

It wasn't a foul and the powers that be can see that clear as day

Some were saying he was a twat for making the tackle!

he's not a twat for making the tackle, but I hope he doesnt keep doing that type of tackle as he will get sent off again for doing so - from Mike Deans viewpoint it didnt look good

Fuck right off Souness
im with you on that mate...when he played and tackled he went in to hurt the player nearly every time,so for him to comment like he did about vinny"s perfect tackle reminds me just how much of a twat he is.........

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

I must admit I thought it was a silly tackle at the time and it wouldn't of been overturned like the one in the FA Cup last season, but it is good to see that common sense has prevailed.
