I've said it before but it needs saying again,. Two footed tackles are allowed under the law as long as the ball acts as a cushion (which it clearly did) and the player does not use excessive force (which he didn't).
I've no idea where that's come from. This is the law:
Serious foul play
A player is guilty of serious foul play if he uses excessive force or brutality
against an opponent when challenging for the ball when it is in play.
A tackle that endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as
serious foul play.
Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the
front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force
and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

Just had a read up on the rules and it says this:

The grounds of appeal available to Participants shall be that the body whose decision is appealed against :
(1) failed to give the appellant a fair hearing and/or
(2) misinterpreted or failed to comply with the rules or regulations relevant to its decision; and/or
(3) came to a decision to which no reasonable such body could have come and/or
(4) imposed a penalty, award, order or sanction that was excessive

(1) and (4) are not relevant. And I can't see how Vinny would get off with either (2) or (3).
And they're not the rules for appealing a red card.

this ^ no disrespect to Fulham or QPR but we should ease passed these and an FA cup game of lesser importance before red dippers, let him have a rest for 3 games, i agree, i want to progress in the cup and i feel lescott and nasty should be enough to get passed stoke or palace but the league is our priority IMO, its a completly one footed tackle but i feel his red card against the scum last season will be brought into it.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

When he first committed the tackle i was more concerned with the injury he seemed to pick up, was clutching his hamstring.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Can't believe what some people are saying about Vinny's tackle. I bet the same people who are saying he should have gone and was stupid are the ones who have a go at Garcia for not making enough challenges.

First of all it was a world class tackle, a tackle where if it was committed on a Sunday morning the attacker would have probably shook your hand for it.

In no way what so ever was it reckless, he actually goes out of his was to make sure it wasn't a dangerous tackle by making sure his stoods are down on his trailing leg.

Also its not about pointing out how other fouls were worse and were not penalised because Vinny's tackle was NOT a foul.

I think when a reckless/ dangerous challenge comes in you can tell by the opposite players reaction to whether it was a foul and Wilshere even thinks he may be the one getting sent off. This in itself shows it wasn't a reckless challenege.

Finally to people who are saying he shouldn't have given the referee an option to send him off, have you ever played football? When you play it you don't constantly think I'm not going to make this challenge because of the ref. You play the game fair and hope the referess doesn't make any mistakes.

Think that was just cover because he knew he was in trouble.
