Great news for Vinnie, however, has common sense prevailed or is this yet another example of the FA being influenced by the media?
For almost the first time, 90% of the media have viewed the red card this weekend as incorrect and hey presto! It's overturned !
Tail still wagging the dog methinks !!

Great point.

Flawed logic.

Of course it was overturned! It was obvious to anyone with any sense or knowledge of Football that it was a great tackle, not even a foul.

You can see why Dean gave it from where he was and that's fair enough, but 90% of the media were correct in wanting it rescinded because that's what the correct decision was! Not because of any agenda or because it "influenced" the review panel, but because it was the right fucking call!

Those saying we shouldn't even appeal need to grow some bollocks and try standing up for what they know is right. It'd have been a travesty if it'd have been upheld and I'd have been looking for some kind of demonstration from the fans on Saturday. Now we can look forward to a demonstration from the team instead...

Come on City.

Mirror journo/Arsenal fan John Cross going mental on Twitter, a beautiful sight.

He's so angry I'm surprised he's hasn't pissed himself

Obviously good news and the correct decision by the FA for once. I am still perplexed as to the high number of red cards we have received in the last 2 seasons compared to the rag scum , I therefore cannot help but continue to think that they are reffed differently to us and most other teams .

I must admit I thought it was a silly tackle at the time and it wouldn't of been overturned like the one in the FA Cup last season, but it is good to see that common sense has prevailed.
But it wasn't even a foul, you can't have players worried about making tackles just in case the referee might try to level things up if the ball is there to be won, win it, and that is what Vinny did, that is why the appeal has been successful, the tackle in the FA Cup was totally different, consisted of 2 feet and there was enough doubt in that tackle in support of the referee, the tackle Sunday there was no doubt as it was a perfect example of a sliding tackle when viewed from the side
