Kompany red card and appeal SUCCESSFUL

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

We don't stand any chance of getting it overturned they will only be interested in the ref's opinion and will back him to the hilt appeal the card get knocked back then carry on!

Agreed. Don't agree it's a red but we have no chance of getting it over turned

2 league and one cup game then back for the dippers game.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

you can just see FA rescinding arsenals red card and giving us extra ban for frivolous appeal

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Has to be appealed. Well timed strong tackles are one of the things that makes Kompany such a great centre half. You will pretty much never see him going into a challenge with the sole intention of hurting someone, unlike a few players you can name.

Even on neutral football forums I browse, only the most dyed in the wool rags are arguing that it should be red.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

big fear is if they then turn it down and it goes to 4 games, in which case he misses Liverpool at home. Surely we can go without him for Fulham at home and QPR away (not sure about Stoke in FA Cup though)?

At one stage 2 feet were off the floor so there is not a chance it will get rescinded. If 2 feet leave the floor at the same time at any point then you've got no arguments. Absolutely stupid from Kompany as the ref was always going to be waiting to even it up. Needless tackle to lunge into.

Can you not see the picture above?

Seriously?

As clean a win as you can make in that situation. If his other foot doesn't leave the floor for a second he will snap his own leg when he goes to ground! What a ridiculous yardstick that really is. If you 'jump into' a tackle yes, but by no (sane) definition is that the case here.

Have to appeal, no way that can be deemed frivolous even if they decide to side with the ref's union.

They will back the ref. it's just a shame Wilshire didn't walk too

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

I have actually counted how many times I have seen it on the sky coverage. Twelve - and I cant make my mind up if it was a "Red" or not but I wouldn't appeal. Its been shown from three camera angles;

1. Good tackle
2. A bit debateable
3. Both feet off the ground

The appeal panel will always go for number 3 to defend their Referee.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

If the FA have any sense the red card for vinnie would be recinded on appeal no question.

The TV angles show that it was a justified and clean challenge.

Maybe we should appeal!
That image has been edited. Still not a red, though.
