Kompany red card and appeal SUCCESSFUL

Bobby basically said that there would be an appeal and too right.

A joke of a decision from a poor ref that I would hope won't be a Prem ref next season.

Even if it's not overturned, we need to make a stand.

Dean is the best of a bad bunch. There are many referees who should not be refereeing in the PL before Dean goes but he got this wrong today. I can see why with one view but replays show it was a clean fair tackle.

I have actually counted how many times I have seen it on the sky coverage. Twelve - and I cant make my mind up if it was a "Red" or not but I wouldn't appeal. Its been shown from three camera angles;

1. Good tackle
2. A bit debateable
3. Both feet off the ground

The appeal panel will always go for number 3 to defend their Referee.
It won't go to a panel though. It will go back to the referee who should change his mind having seen he clearly got it wrong.

This is correct....unfortunately.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

This is the first one that I think we should appeal as it could go either way whereas the ones for Nasri v Norwich, Mario v Spurs and Kompany v United were always going to stand. This one could get overturned.

Maybe we should appeal!
That image has been edited. Still not a red, though.

Its not been edited, its clearly a different frame.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

I'm not having any of this 'Dean is a poor ref' malarky though. He's a very good ref. He's one of the best along with Webb (when Webb isn't in charge of a Rag game).

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

West Ham and Everton both had red cards rescided (Carlton Cole and Darren Gibson) recently - so it is worth trying especially if there is compelling evidence to support the case.

Dreamland mate.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

If that is a red, just ban tackles altogether, the arsenal player just jumps into vinny. His foot is behind the ball andthe arsenal player is no where near the ball

-- Sun Jan 13, 2013 7:18 pm --

If that is red are they going to look at poldowski on zabba? Thought not
