Kompany red card and appeal SUCCESSFUL

Right after the tackle was made I was certain it would get overturned. I'm glad common sense prevailed and we no longer have to hear idiots claiming that by the letter of the law it was a red card.

It isn't, wasn't and never has been a red card tackle.

Great point.

Flawed logic.

Of course it was overturned! It was obvious to anyone with any sense or knowledge of Football that it was a great tackle, not even a foul.

You can see why Dean gave it from where he was and that's fair enough, but 90% of the media were correct in wanting it rescinded because that's what the correct decision was! Not because of any agenda or because it "influenced" the review panel, but because it was the right fucking call!

Those saying we shouldn't even appeal need to grow some bollocks and try standing up for what they know is right. It'd have been a travesty if it'd have been upheld and I'd have been looking for some kind of demonstration from the fans on Saturday. Now we can look forward to a demonstration from the team instead...

Come on City.

Think you may have misunderstood what I'm trying to say. Yes, it was a great tackle and not even a foul, I totally agree BUT, we have seen great tackles punished before and poor decisions NOT overturned, many times. The difference I'm trying to illustrate is that this time the media came out in support and look what's happened. You just have to look at the witch hunt on NDJ following the Ben Arfa tackle (also a great tackle in my opinion) but the media went for him in a big way!

Was de Jong punished?

If we had not appealed then we would be the pussiest club in front of the fa dictators .
Massive respect to club for standing the ground .

I'd be interested to know whether the panel took into account the fact that Arsenal had had a red card. Think usually refs look for any opportunity to try to 'even it up' after they've sent someone off.

If this is not over turned we might as well give up.

Kompany is not two footed, his leading foot is pointed down, he's got the ball, the opposing player in nowhere near the ball, and has already slipped (right foot).

To be fair to Dean he sees it once, and the angle he saw looks bad, but I'm sure he will have seen this picture since, and it will be over turned. Its not even a foul, and definitely not a booking.

If not over turned with this picture, defending in football is f**ked, its that simple.

Agree Totally but we all know they wont overturn it no chance sadly :(
Don't think they had any option once this picture had done the rounds, it shows an almost perfect tackle, and that the opponent was nowhere near the ball. Simple decision with this evidence.
