The only slight worry is that Ladyman said the Refs were fuming over the card being rescinded as if effectively undermines them.
Lets hope they're men enough to take it on the chin and not exact any petty revenge.
Dosnt bode well for next 16 games, refs revenge on City, will it happen?
Personally i dont think so, apart from the obvious clowns our refs are fair minded... i hope

They shouldn't take it so personally. It doesn't undermine them, and any refs that think that way are drama queens.

Mike Dean saw it from where he was, thought it looked like a bad lunging tackle with 2 feet, so he showed the red card. I assume the panel saw it from multiple angles, decided it was not a bad tackle, and so rescinded the card. From what I have read it seems like most people could see that from Dean's perspective it looked worse than it was, but was in fact a fair tackle.

Just seen ex Rag Robson, claiming it was never a sending off and he feels the art of tackling is slowly being removed.
Fair point he made also, that 30 years ago that would have been deemed as a great tackle from VK.
Don't know about 30 years ago but it was a great tackle 2 days ago.

Saw this on Newsnow.com
The link headlined :

"Crushing blow for City as Kompany red card is set to stand - meaning skipper will have to serve three-match ban"

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2262044/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... index.html</a>

Their joy obviously turned sour and then they removed the page when the decision was announced. They must have been crying into their laptops.

According to the papers, the only way these decisions get over turned is if the panel find that the ref made an "obvious error".
Which there was

No there wasn't,as many pundits and 'experts' stated.

It was a challenge very much open to interpretation and thankfully the panel decision was the right one for us and football IMO.
There was, it wasn't even a foul.

Great news- thought the Keown column on Daily Mail this morning with a series of pictures of VK tackles was a fuckin' disgrace. My comment wasn't published as you can imagine.

It didn't involve 'excessive force' or 'endanger the safety of an opponent' either so two more "obvious errors".

The key to all of this is that a player (Garcia?) was screening Dean's view at the crucial moment of impact, so he saw Kompanygo to ground from a similar angle as the camera (looked like 2 feet) and the collision.

Surely Dean would be first to admit that he'd seen it wrong.

im even more convinced this league is corrupt now.

theres no way they would want those twats running away with the league after last years viewing figures.

yes im over the moon justice has been done but a part of me thinks if we were 7 points in front of the rags the decision might of been different.

of course all this could be bollox lol

Wait a sec, you're upset that the FA made the right call, when they could have potentially banned our captain for 4 matches and let them lot walk the league?!

Happy as I am to see this rescinded, I sense that he'll need to tread carefully in the coming weeks, as the spotlight will be firmly on him. It's all rather reminiscent of the furore surrounding Nigel de Jong and his tackling style, back in 2010.

Watch out especially for the games with Wigan, Everton & Newcastle ;)

That was terribly cryptic and I had to go and see who we played following that run. ;-)
