Kompany red card merged threads

Just a thought ------------- but could Vinnie have been 'mentally tired' after the huge effort on Wednesday and was slow to react to the initial foul on him??

It was a foul on vinny initially , had he done that to Jov he would have gone off for it. Lack of common sense in this ruling.
Turned out right decision in the end to pull him down and get a red card, had hull scored from the one on one we might not have been collecting three points.

How good was MDM, cool in every stride, great performance. Silva, MDM, hart, zabba brilliant....

It would be amazing if he was 100% after that game, however,i imagine that, like most who played midweek, those exertions will have taken their toll to various degrees either physically or mentally.

As much as a few on here believe our players are machines that do not need rest or rotation, the real world is a bit different as Pellegrini has been trying to balance over the four competitions with limited options.

That was my big worry for yesterday. After a draining 90 minutes at the Nou camp i thought we might struggle to get up for yesterdays game, but we totally were. As for the red, you have to view the two incidents involved in it separately. It was a foul yes, but once Vinnie fouled Jelavic there was only one outcome. The fact it was 10 minutes in is irrelevent, just a poor decision from Vinnie.

Has it been confirmed yet by the FA the length of ban? Im presuming its just 1.

Looking on the bright side, Vinnie will be rested and ready to go in the derby - he'll only have played 10 minutes since Barca.

Always thought straight red was three match ban, there again the FA make the rules up as they go along!
