Your missing the point, with respect .we actually would like to be,not the modern age dippers, but certainly the dominant dips of the 70s 80s,which meant veteran performers showing early signs of decline were replaced, without sentimental thoughts by younger quality signings.I do. We ain't Dippers! We recognise the person and not the commodity.
City ..arguably..should have replaced Lee Buzzeretc faster than they did.Liverpool didnt hang about when they were at the top....and remained so for decades.
None of this of course detracts from the brilliant career of VK,and perhaps City have a coaching role lined up for him..which is great.....but Vinny himself, who knows his body better than anybody..is aware of the value of a " commodity' given that he started his own fancy car business a few years ago...giving him somat to fall back on when the strain of the premier league becomes too much for him..on a regular basis..which i believe it is now.
