Unreal, do people here actually watch the matches? Kompany is class. Find me a defender that doesn't make mistakes? Everyone is wanking over Dunne now yet when he was here you all hated him too.

Agreed. Last season Kompany was by far the best defender we had. He's not been the best in pre-season but no one has really been amazing so far either. He'll be starting centre back when the season starts no question.

I no Kompany is not a world class center back but he is the best we got even though that is not even his natural position. Toure & Lescott are not as good as him for different reasons. Lescott ball watches and there for loses his positioning and Toure is poor in the air.

I do agree he is not a top center half though but if your going to slag Kompany off then what about the rest. The only other defender i rate in our team is Nedum Onuoha who is so under rated its embarrassing. In fact think im ill start a Micah Richards thread.

Have to agree with the assessment of kompany......he's not poor but he's not good enough at centre half...much better midfield player. The problem is, centre half is such a crucial position in any team.......all successful teams have a dominant ch and outstanding ch pairing....we don't and next season [like last] the better teams will exploit it unless we sort it out.....especially at set pieces....my priority for this transfer window was 2 outstanding ch's above anything else.....not glamorous i know....but the foundation of any top class side....

I don`t rate Kompany nor Lescott , and I believe that Richards and Ned will be better than them.
