Kyle Walker joins Burnley (pg5)

I’d argue he was one of the most important signings during the pep era. He was like a cheat code at times and would single handily stop counter attacks or mark the oppositions best player out the game. Could say we haven’t replaced him and it shows.

Off the pitch I won’t comment. Best to concentrate on the positives!

We should have put a clause in saying they had to pay us if they didn’t sign him permanently. Smart move by the rags on Sancho.
Should have put a clause it saying they paid us £100m up front if we are playing fantasy football director. The other side has to agree...

Good luck to him, one player who always demonstrably improved the team until his last season.

The reported £5m fee is a bit surprising. Firstly I thought we’d let him go on a free and secondly it’s hard to believe any Club would pay £5m for a 35 year old player.

Wish him well but those who are saying best right back are mistaken. Without his pace he would have been average, bailed himself (and others) out of the shit so many times with the afterburners, and with that became indispensable to us because of the way we play, but definitely suspect when it came to decision making and positional play.

I'm going against the consensus here and don't think he'll be a good signing for Burnley......

I reckon there is a wages top up for what would be the remainder of his City contract. It has happened before.

But he did have his pace, you can't say Messi would have been useless if he'd not had a left leg.

I didn't say he was useless, in fact I said he was indispensable. Being fast in isolation does not make you the best defender in the PL

Good luck to him.
He was a fantastic servant until he walked out mid way through our toughest campaign in about 15 years.

I genuinely wish him well and hope it works out for him, but I think he’s done, he’s not as fast as he was and without that recovery pace he’s going to struggle.

Why come back to a league that exposed his fading talent?

Anyway, aslong as he is moved on now that’s the main part. Iv no doubt he won’t be able to stop talking about it on podcasts.

I would sum up his time here as a brilliant RB but unfortunately his personal life finally made its way into his professional life and he did a runner.

I had him down as our best rb but you can’t just ignore a captain who walks out on his team half way through the season.

It wasn’t just pace was it. He wouldn’t be in a pep side if it was just pace. I think you’re seriously underrating how good walker was. We desperately miss prime walker now
