I imagine they are probably asking for something in between £45-55m, which is to be expected after the season both he and Spurs had.

Whilst he is arguably the best right back in the league (even though I rate Clyne more highly), you would have to suspect there are many alternatives abroad.

If he were 3 or 4 years younger, I would say £40m in today's market wouldn't be a bad deal for Walker.

Should go for Hysaj from Napoli if Walker doesn't work out big fan of Hysaj personally

Another great reason to go for Bertrand, takes all the HG pressure off Walker and we could go for Semedo.

In an ideal world, Bertrand would be a good backup to one of Mendy or Sandro and we should still sign one of those two. 40m for Mendy or 50-55m for Sandro, fine, just pay it. Because success on the pitch translates to increased financial returns and increased brand value. And most players wanna join the winning team, so the more we win the easier we'll sign world class talent and players in the future.

That's why clubs like Real Madrid don't compromise on their first choice transfer targets very often, when they want a guy they get him because they wanna keep winning.

Best RB in the league. If we don't pay what Spurs are asking, then no doubt Chelsea will, and that would be really shit for two reasons - one because he'd improve whoever signs him, and two because it would make us look smalltime compared to them, which im my opinion is even worse.

Show ambition, pay the asking price, improve the team, win the league.

No fucking about hoping second rate foreign signings might be ok and ending up battling for top 3 or 4 while the chavs hoover up titles. Fucking sick of that shit.
