With how long it's taking the FA to sort out Ederson, imagine trying to deal with whether or not Aurier is even allowed in England with his legal troubles that has seen him stay in Paris during a CL away game.

Real headache if Aurier was our next choice. The interesting part is who would be the realistic back up plan.

Best RB in the league. If we don't pay what Spurs are asking, then no doubt Chelsea will, and that would be really shit for two reasons - one because he'd improve whoever signs him, and two because it would make us look smalltime compared to them, which im my opinion is even worse.

Show ambition, pay the asking price, improve the team, win the league.

No fucking about hoping second rate foreign signings might be ok and ending up battling for top 3 or 4 while the chavs hoover up titles. Fucking sick of that shit.

Pretty safe to say that there is zero chance that Spurs would sell Walker or any of their best players to Chelsea. Sissoko, on the other hand......

It's been £40mil for weeks. Not a chance will they randomly up the amount to £60mil after all those discussions

It's all guesswork - the £40m figure included. But the basic idea (of raising the price after weeks of talks) is actually classic Levy.

What a twat Levy is

Merely doing what he believes is best for his club. It's business, not personal.

Isn't the problem Levy is going to run into now, is that he has to start paying these players like their supposed value suggests? Can't tout these players at £40-60M + and still have them on low wages.

If we give Spurs £60m for Walker, we'll never be quoted less than £80m for a quality player in future. If that's what we want then go ahead, but it seems wiser to walk away. Levy knows we're soft. Each summer we get quoted a price for a player, have 2 months of negotiations and then just pay the original quoted price.

Said it before and I will say it again, if that is the price we should walk away and leave them with an unhappy player. And just because we can we should put in a bid for Alli to unsettle him

Levy knows we're soft because we have just got rid of our existing players for that position and need to find replacements asap. all clubs know that we are desperate to fill those spots - which to a large extent undermines our leverage. the only leverage we get is by engaging with a number of alternatives.
