It would probably turn out to be a decent signing. It's just when I heard that we were getting the one and only Pep Guardiola I never envisaged Kyle Walker would be a part of his master plan, it's just a bit underwhelming for me for some reason. While I agree that the rumoured 40-50m fee is too much, I think there's considerable difference between Shaw and Walker. Shaw was a 19 year old prospect with perceived potential which could go either way when MU bought him while Walker is 26 and nearing or at his prime and there's little risk in him compared to an 18 or 19 year old prospect who still has to develop over the years to fulfill his perceived potential. And yes he's English.
Unfortunately he'd be overpriced for the obvious reasons.
40m is fair IMO. He is the best RB in the league, in his prime, just signed a new contract and is also English.
At the end of the day we need an established proven right back who can slot straight in rather than take a year to settle. Best option IMO.40m is fair IMO. He is the best RB in the league, in his prime, just signed a new contract and is also English.
