English & already established in the Premiership - I understand why City went this direction and had to overpay. Semedo is a great signing for us though, no question - he was my first choice since January but never seemed it was going to happen due to the obsession with Bellerin
He wouldn't have been 35 mil to an English club.
Everyone over here is paying a 10 mil premium.
Bonucci was 60 mil to Chelsea but 45 to Milan.

This thread is a tragic read. I was expecting people to be buzzed about it, we are finally signing a quality fullback who's been the best in his position, in this league for the last two years
Sad isn't it? Ah well, I'm fucking buzzing! Class signing.

Looking forward to this Guy being that extra set of legs that gets ahead of Raheem for a cut back to Sergio or Jesus for a tap in. Also having someone who can get up and down the field will provide extra cover, everyone outside the club loves slagging Stones and Ottemendi but with two decent full backs either side they might not end up in some of the one on one situations they encountered last season.

The reporting of the fee in the media is hilarious, the rags pay nearly 100 million for Lukaku who I wouldn't have in the top 5 strikers in the league. Yet we go after Walker who is the best right back in the league and are lambasted for the fee at 50 million. Oh and the new raggy mantra is Valencia is better. You can't make this stuff up.

He's a damn sight better than Stones was when we paid £50m for him, put it that way. Money is utterly ridiculous now so i don't get why anyone is 1) acting surprised and 2) arsed.

Even bottom of the table teams can splash 30m on a player these days. 10m players are now 30m (Keane) and 30m ones are now 50. Walker etc.

Just how it is. And for those honestly acting like Trippier is better. Wind it in. Walker was dropped to a disagreement, probs due to this. Nothing more nothing less. Even though it doesn't feel an exciting signing it's probably one of those we'll look back at and go 'well he was v fucking useful for a few years'. He'll fit in with no problems at all and sometimes that's just as important.

Nothing heard about CB ?

Best RB in the premier league, at the peak of his ability, has a great amount of yearscleft in him, homegrown, has cut out his defensive mistakes, Englands no.1 RB.

He is exactly what our team needed and Pep wanted. Pep will make him a better player also. We have paid over the odds but that is because we have dealt with Levy who is very shrewd in his business.

Great signing

If this was £40m we'd all be bouncing around. Don't let £10m get in the way of a great signing, not for a home grown lad from a rival in this market.

Who gives a fuck about the money?

£50M is fuck all in todays PL....nothing!

Great signing
Levy also knows how good Walker actually is..hence his shrewd stance.

And as I stated earlier about the nearly 5 mill sell on fee for Sheffield.... this deal could have been 45 mill. ;)

forever the optimist me.
