Kovacic can be the creative midfielder with the engine.

McAtee is also a very clever player.

If Bernie stays, we don't have a problem.

Fans are fearful because selling teams may now see us as desperate, after losing out on bellingham and rice, the latest saga with Josko is painful for whatever reason
 
£15m would be a total joke. Given the standard of the league he's going to he has another two years minimum of top quality performances in him. Why is it we're scrimping when it comes to buying the best talent but basically giving away our players?

Fully agree with you on the refresh. We’ve reached the top of the mountain so we need some new blood hungry to climb again. I will happily let Gundogan, Walker, Laporte and Mahrez leave on their own terms and reluctantly let Bernardo go if he wants out. Bring in new faces but bar Foden for Bernardo, Kovacic for Gundogan and Gvardiol for Ake, the core of the first XI remains the same.

What is strange is that despite the likely departures we’ve been linked with Gvardiol, Rice and Bellingham and no one else. Normally agents leak our interest but barely a whisper.

I think that’s what has a few blues nervous. Departures are inevitable but with City arrivals aren’t certain. City always wait for the right players, if they aren’t available we’ll sit tight. Let’s hope that the right players are available this summer we can’t afford to go into the season short.

We are not privy to the private conversations that happen within CFA but as far as we have ever known, City are happy for Bernardo to go if we get an offer which has never materialized.
Bernardo is also happy to continue here if an offer doesn't come forward.

However, Walker has one on the table and if he has given the go ahead then he will go, not the same at all.

Perhaps because it's a thread about one of our outstanding players of the last several seasons potentially joining them.

It may well prove to be a good time for Kyle to leave us but he has not out grown his usefulness even if he is no longer first choice due to our current formation, which of course won't last; we will eventually go back to having more regulation full backs (possibly under Pep, possibly not and it won't be imminent).

I think the concern comes from us generally not needing more than 1 top quality player a season.

We must be talking 5 or 6 years since we last went into the market looking to sign 3 top players that will affect the starting lineup.

Usually its 1 and a few backups like Haaland and Phllips / Akanji, Grealish, Dias and Ake/Torres etc
 
If the lad wants to leave and there's an acceptable offer on the table it seems our stance more often than not is "thanks for your service and good bye..." As a strategy it's worked a treat so far..
