Kylian Mbappé | Real Madrid Player (pg620)

When you offer players that sort of weekly amount it will turn anyone’s head! If we was offered 250m for Haaland and they offered Haaland 5m a week would he go would city except that!!

They that wealthy they could decimate the premier league if they wanted..

This will trigger a revolt in Saudi Arabia in time. We go on like these countries have a never ending supply of money but its total bullshit. The economy of the UK is over 3 times as big as the Saudi economy. The difference is Saudi Araba is run by a man child who inherited power by birthright and has some delusional idea to make Saudi Arabia a football powerhouse. The Saudi's are throwing money down the shitter as there is no return on this investment. The players will come for 1-2 years, take the money and fuck off and Bin Salman is delusional if he thinks he can make Al Hilah V Al-Qaeda a Barcelona v Real Madrid type fixture.

Bin Salman is such a wally.
Totally unsustainable

Its a joke league on no foundations. Take for instance Gerrard. If results are shit will his club sack him? Of course not, because the league itself is a facade rather than an actual competition. Its a pony show rather than a football competition and any football fan who takes an interest in Saudi football is a lemming

Just before the self righteousness goes off the scale, can we just remember this is how everyone else felt when we were taken over. Calls for 'asian ffp', accusations of ruining football - all we need now is to say it shouldn't be allowed because the Saudi clubs have no history/ is try and we'll have completed the full shithouse red shirt bingo card! Good luck to them and mbappe. With a bit of luck they'll get kane too.

There are definitely foundations being laid and for a lot of people it's not a joke... Whether it's successful or not is yet to be seen.. obviously..

It would take many years for whatever their league is to become more of a prestigious one than the PL.
Disagree, throw enough money at it and the players will flock. “legacy” fans won’t like it but the league will get viewers from the huge causal audiences such as America, Japan, china, India etc.

They only reason the English clubs are so popular in those countries is because these are the games on their tvs. They have no real affiliation towards the clubs (in most cases)

Urgently needs an Asian FFP. Insane levels of money will distort things for everyone and it is grotesque.
That kind of smacks of being hypocritical.

FFP needs to be scrapped. They should be able to invest to start up a business which is what they are effectively doing.

However, there needs to be controls on player salaries. Say max £250kpw for a player and £200m total first team squad salary for any club across the world.

The only means test that club owners must prove they have the funds set aside to pay up salaries if there were to leave. Obviously this would include sponsor agreement deals

For example. If Stockport were to be taken over by Saudi and wanted to sign Haaland. They would not have enough sponsors money to cover his salary. So they would have to put the value of Haaland salary over the term in a club trust fund.

It won’t stop the Saudi league but they are not doing anything wrong.
I don’t think it will last as players won’t enjoy the culture

Lads - forget it. He’s going to Spurs.

No way he’ll even consider Saudi when he’s got the opportunity to play for one of the best clubs in the World alongside Ollie Skipp and James Maddison.

Spurs are building something special here - you’d better watch out!

Don’t take my word for it - ask Manor Solomon!
