Maybe for the odd game, he's likely to get frustrated/mentally fatigued if asked to do it week in/week out. Germain does an incredible amount of work stretching and harassing defenders at Monaco and Falcao is one of the world's best hold up players. Pep's wingers are not wingers in traditional sense, they frequently move centrally and, what's important, are not always obliged to track their fullbacks. Guardiola playing 442 is just your fantasy, this formation contradicts the basics of his approach (triangles all over the pitch, using the '3rd man' etc.). The system with wide wingers getting diagonal switches and 'false 9' was used by Cruyff 25-30 years ago, it's not even Pep's invention. Even Begiristain himself played as a winger in the same formation. 3-5-2 is a possibility, but you don't buy young wingers like Sane to rot them on the bench.We probably go 442 or 352.

And why can't GJ or Mbappe "stretch or harass" defenders constitently? Are you saying this is a skill that is unique to age and experience?
And what makes Falcao great at leading the line? He sure doesn't harass or stretch anyone?
The point in making here is simple. Different players lead the line in different ways. There is no one way to do it. Some harass, some stretch, some hang on the last defenders defender's back, others hold up long punted balls etc etc.
Simply put, you play to your strength. Clearly GJ and KML have some strengths or else they wouldn't be phenom at their ages. I reckon those strengths, whatever they are, is what they'll lead the line with.
