I think it's two years, could be three but City never confirmed the extension.
If it's 2 years then it would make financial, but not necessarily footballing, sense to sell him this season if we get Mbappe. However, if it's 3 years then we should keep him for another season to allow the new players to settle in and gel and sell him next year.

That's the funny thing, Pep confirmed it in a press conference

But isn't that in itself very strange? Why wouldn't the club announce it? Anyway onto Mbappe, I think he's such a hugely marketable player that he'd raise the profile of the club so much. We sold the 13th highest amount of shirts and whilst you don't actually make that much off sales, having a young star takes the club up a notch in terms of support.

The point is Aguero will want to leave if we get Mbappe and Sanchez. From our interest it would make a lot of sense to keep Aguero for another year, but we won't make him stay.

There's zero chance we'll get both but i'll entertain it for a second just to pose this question. What makes you so sure he would want to leave in that scenario? He's never expressed any desire to leave throughout his time with us despite having the pick of teams if he wanted, and he's always maintained he's very happy here. Why are you perceiving him as somebody that would immediately shy away from a bit of competition and look to jump ship at the first chance he'd get? He's been here when we had Dzeko, Balotelli Tevez and himself all vying for two spots at best and didn't throw any toys out of the pram when he was rotated. I doubt he'd do it now either, and he's currently better than both Sanchez and Mbappe so he's more likely to bench them than anything.

Aguero is going nowhere. He'll be here until his contract runs down at least, he'll become our all time top scorer and write himself into history here

Take your point pal, but I'm not sure we could sanction a £150m transfer without Aguero getting sold. If we managed both Sanchez and Mbappe for £200m and sold Aguero for £100m, it suddenly looks like a masterstroke business wise.

Yes, I agree. If Sanchez came as well then I'd be happy to see Aguero move on in this window.
