Kylian Mbappe

But isn't that in itself very strange? Why wouldn't the club announce it? Anyway onto Mbappe, I think he's such a hugely marketable player that he'd raise the profile of the club so much. We sold the 13th highest amount of shirts and whilst you don't actually make that much off sales, having a young star takes the club up a notch in terms of support.
Jesus and Mbappe that's the dream

Agree with this. Was watching a Ian Cheeseman vlog from the USA and he spoke with a American fan about City being advertised and he mentioned Sane as the "poster boy" because of his fashion styles etc. So it seems its not always about club legends. Not sure how accurate the one fan was for the whole marketing thing but does seem younger players are more apparent.

Well I personally think we need to sign a superstar to be in that elite bracket. I know the Pogba deal was ridiculous in a sense at United but it generates so many extra fans and raises the profile hugely when you bring in a well known star.

Mbappe is one of the top five players in terms of how marketable he is. He's the crowning jewel for someone like us IMO.

Fresh story being spread all over the internet (google translate from le10sport).
Though the source quoted is Mundo Deportivo, very unreliable paper of Barca's board.
Neymar has bid farewell to his teammates, he left Barcelona for PSG is only a matter of hours. For the Catalan club must now find a replacement. If more names are mentioned in the media, that of Ousmane Dembélé would be much appreciated by the Barcelona direction. However, to provide the player Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona may well have to fight with Real Madrid.

While Real Madrid was hot to afford Kylian Mbappé, the trend has changed to believe Mundo Deportivo. The Iberian media says Florentino Pérez and Zinedine Zidane have finally set their sights on Ousmane Dembélé instead of the Monaco striker. This track is particularly preferred that the salary will be lower than Dembélé Mbappé, which could blow the payroll of the club. A second blow to Barcelona after the departure of Neymar?

BBC Gossip or should I say newspaper gossip is just ridiculous. Every paper has a totally different figure for Neymar's transfer even though we all know exactly what the release clause is, and then they allhave their exclusives on who Barcelona are infor.

French sources say they are in for Mbappe, Monaco have an interest in encouraging an auction. If true, and it quite likely is, then that's City up against Real madrid and barca,

I think we might have a chance though stupid as it might sound. If I were Mbappe I wouldn't go to Real madrid because he wont play, and at barca I'd be very wary of stepping into Neymar's shoes. A very god argument to go to City where he can grow with City.

Appreciate your optimism but Mbappe would replace Benzema in a blink of Zidanes eyes. At Barca yes he is Neymars replacement but he might see that as a motivation rather than a hindrance.

I do think this 19% Spanish tax could be influential.

Also, very stable coach holding all the power, less attention from press, more patience and time for development. No one knows if Zidane will be Madrid's coach in a year.
And if Mbappe's advisors are as good as it's rumoured, they won't touch Barca's circus with a bargepole.

There's zero chance we'll get both but i'll entertain it for a second just to pose this question. What makes you so sure he would want to leave in that scenario? He's never expressed any desire to leave throughout his time with us despite having the pick of teams if he wanted, and he's always maintained he's very happy here. Why are you perceiving him as somebody that would immediately shy away from a bit of competition and look to jump ship at the first chance he'd get? He's been here when we had Dzeko, Balotelli Tevez and himself all vying for two spots at best and didn't throw any toys out of the pram when he was rotated. I doubt he'd do it now either, and he's currently better than both Sanchez and Mbappe so he's more likely to bench them than anything.

Aguero is going nowhere. He'll be here until his contract runs down at least, he'll become our all time top scorer and write himself into history here
Its an assumption that most people share. Fair enough if you don't.

Zidane said after our pre season game against them he want Benzema and the rest of BBC to stay. Benzema means a lot to that club and he's outlasted many a ST during his time there so it's not as easy to just think Mbappe is going to just stroll in there and take Benzema's spot. Also, Mbappe has had several opportunities to join Madrid and play for Zidane before now and chose not to, so maybe he isn't as stuck on Madrid as people think. Also when Neymar was younger he was actually a Madrid fan and when a paper asked him who his favorite player was he chose Zidane over Ronaldinho and we all know where Neymar ended up playing as a professional.

Mbappe, Jesus, Sane, Sterling, de Bruyne, Silva, Silva, Gundogan...

I have a hard time thinking about this team without Sergio, but fuck me that's a shitload of goals right there....
