I think his namesake at Monaco is the one but suspect it would blow most of our budget.
Good point.Cant see us bringing much in on sales.

So you say we' regret it for the next decade, when we'll presumably be watching Sané, Jesus and Sterling walking out for Coventry or something?
Jesus was the next big talent we couldn't miss out on, we signed him. Now Mbappe, same positions, we can't miss out on. Then next season there'll be Jimmy Amazeballs we can't miss out on up front.
Yet they'll all come here and take turns sitting on their thumbs every other week... will they fuck.
Once people realise it's not black and white when it comes to talented youngsters, maybe they'll stop kicking and screaming over the latest shiny new thing.
If we did sign Sanchez, I doubt we'd have Sterling at the very least.
Isco in place of Silva in a little while makes sense at least. Mbappe when we've 3 young forwards and one of the best strikers in the world in his prime years, doesn't. Certainly not to the extent of "must buy"
He's nowhere near a "must buy" for us.
Perhaps. I haven't seen them against Senior players though.Like Diaz and Sancho?
A young, future Hall of Famer, no? And two All Stars, on the team. When you can buy a player like this, it's a must buy. Even if you got more important laking point.
Remind me the Trailblazers, who didnt take MJ23 cause they had someone on the 2/3 post.
Regretted it the next 20 fckin years.
Anyway, he won't be sold this summer. But next year, every club who have the money to bring on him should, and will, make an offer.

Whom he would have had to share time with. Undoubtedly he'd have eventually shone through but change that to Sterling or Sane or Jesus, will they put up with being benched? We've bought our "forwards of the future". Sane, Sterling and Jesus wer
If you go back to the thread from that season. You'd You'dsee purge made this very same argument about how Mangala was the right decision and those of us who wanted Sanchez instead just wanted to sign another shinning thing.I personally don't think he will be sold in the summer anyway, but as and when he comes available, you just can't rest on your laurels. French media continue to label this boy as being from a different planet and I would completely agree.
Why let anyone else particularly in the premier league take one of the most exciting talents for years when we could add him to our squad of young stars?
Pep is trying to begin a revolution at this club, Mbappe would be such a perfect signing in terms of securing what could be one of the most deadliest forward lines the world has seen for decades.
If we want to have aspirations of winning the champions league, we need to be ruthless in making our moves for exceptional talents and he is one of them. As for the defence, as I said we should be looking at prioritising that first but as and when a player like this comes available, we can't stand around twiddling our thumbs like we did when we prioritised Mangala over signing a player like Alexis Sanchez. We well and truly got our fingers burnt there.
Slow down player. Jesus is special. So is Mbappe. And I want them both on the roster.Yup, Clyde Drexler. But don't you think that if they knew, they wouldn't have let Drexler going on the bench for MJ?
If you take Mbappe, he will be in the starting XI in less than one month. Sterling still have a good cost on the market, for example. Even tough i don't see Mbappe as a winger (where he have been formed), but definitively as a striker (where he play under Jardim). Jesus will be the collateral dammage.
Clichy, Sagna, Zabaleta, Kolarov; 3 of which are out of contract this summer.
Sterling, Sane, Aguero, Jesus; all starting calibre, all under long contracts.
Which area screams "must buy"?
He'd be a luxury signing, for the sake of another team not getting him. Why would he come here to play every other game, at best?
You can't sign every great talent, especially if we're already well set at their position. Next season there'll be another "OMG, he's well good, we have to get him or I'll cry" player in his position that everyone will be screaming for.

Exactly.I'm not so sure why you're arguing against the signing? Money is the not the issue and he wouldn't prevent sigings from our 'must buy' areas. I've heard another 200m is available, sounds about right...
Isco-25m
RB/LB-50m
GK-30m
CB-30m
Total-135. Very rough figures, just to highlight my point.
If we signed him he wouldn't be a luxury signing at all. It's because we've classified him at a higher level than just a 'great talent'. Sane/Jesus were the flavor of the month, must have talents of last year and how's that working out? They massively surpassed expectations. If we sign KM there isn't a doubt for me that the same thing will happen with this one as well.
We've lacked WC options outside of our 'best 11' for years. Having Sane/Mbappe/Raz/Jesus and Aguero isn't a luxury at all it's a necessity for our progression. Will we sign him? I really don't see it but if they rate him as highly as they did GJ/Sane and you have the option of locking him up you don't let that pass you by.
Exactly.
Cheers for making my point. I'm sure Mbappe will see that and go "Nope, I'll go where I'll start every week like I am now"
As for the Mangala point, not addressing you personally @ADegenerate, we certainly did require a CB over any other position. Would I take Sanchez over Jesus, Sane or Sterling now? Nope.
Mangala just didn't work out but as for addressing the CB issue, it was absolutely right to do.
You're wrong for the starting XI point.
He will Monaco where Monaco tell him to go, nothing more ^^
Except if they got several offers of the same amount :p
True, I just don't want it to harm Sancho's development, as I think he'll be truly first class.A special talent is a special talent regardless of the league. A better question might be to ask if the skill set you see from him will transition and for me it's definitely yes.
There isn't anything wrong with your assessment of where the money would be spent but I'd swap out the CB purchase for this kid. Aleks has shown he's more than capable, give vinnie another year, and don't give up on Nico just yet.
Personally, I don't think we have much of a chance at him unless Aguero leaves and that probability is is shrinking each week. I haven't seen enough of him to compare him to gabriel but @MillionDollarDream might be able to give you a good answer there.
